Always dependably excellent food and service in a lovely setting. The portions are quite small, and prices are not, however. This restaurant can hold its own with our San Francisco favorites. We've never had a bad meal. Reservations are a must as it is VERY popular. We often order the halibut, but don't think any item on the menu would... More

We reserved late (reservations a must here - well in advance!), and got the early seating. We thought we might be rushed to make way for another seating, but much to the contrary we ate like Europeans, not worrying (neither us nor the staff) about any time issues. Very refreshing. We all had a red and green leaf salad which... More

Great classy location, clean, awesome service, amazing food. This was our last night out in Tahoe, and I couldn't have been happier ending our stay with the best dining experience of our trip. Everything we had was just incredible. So much attention to every aspect of our evening at Wolfdale's. Yum, yum, yum!

Probably the best food in town, we go there at least one night every time we're visiting Tahoe. Food is consistently good, although would like to see more new items rotating with the long time favorites. Good wine list, and if it's warm enough there's outdoor patio seating. Christie did a nice serving job, but Bob is the long time... More

In our experience, restaurants in popular vacation spots away from metropolitan areas like Tahoe can be inconsistent over time. Not so Wolfdale's which has delivered great service and delicious food in 4 visits over the past 4 years. Congratulations! We look forward to our next lake-view dining experience.

Wolfdale's in Tahoe City is a true destination restaurant...in the same vein as those places Michelin says, "are worth a special detour". We were pampered from the first moment. View the lake from an outside table - or inside. I like dining inside. Trevor, our waiter, took us in hand and curated the perfect occasion for old friends to celebrate... More

This is a meathead restaurant for meathead diners. The food was somewhere between awful and just plain bad, and the prices were what I would expect to pay at top restaurants in San Francisco, New York or London. The food was over-cooked, over-sauced, over-priced, and just plain absurd.

OK, I'm fourth generation San Franciscan. My ex-wife is a foodie. So I grew up with world-famous restaurants and amazing cuisine. When I moved to Truckee, I expected to have to go back to SF to rescue my palette. Wolfdale's made that not necessary for several reasons. One - it is a world class restaurant on its own. Two -... The food at Wolfdale's was not bad, but it did not merit the price at all. The three star rating is for this reason. At the price tag, it should be outstanding. We ate at several other places (which were not inexpensive) that provided better food at a significantly lower total tab than this. The combinations of food were creative... More

I have been dinning at Wolfdale's since they first opened in Homewood (late '70s) prior to their moving to their current location in Tahoe City overlooking Lake Tahoe. That's a whole lot of great meals and I have never been disappointed. This particular trip to Tahoe, we started with Washington oysters and Ahi Tuna poke. A great start to the... More
