My wife and I split the BBQ pork sliders. Wow, just when I thought I was sick of the same old BBQ pork, Jake's puts a nice spin on it, with the addition of some fresh basil and cilantro. Jake's also has some good cocktails... and let's not forget the view. Opt for an outside table, if the weather permits.

The food here was absolutely to die for, the clam chowder was the creamiest and tastiest I've ever had. The wagyu you burger is the best burger I've ever had in my life. The service was great as well.

Boy was this place packed! Beware portions are big! We ordered so much food and it was all good! And the wine list! I love it! Rombauer Chardonnay by the glass! Although they were out of it at the time, I was able to console myself with a selection of red. Salad bar with plentiful fixings and a relaxed atmosphere,... More

Jakes is one of those "happenin places" at Lake Tahoe in the summer. Fun to watch boats coming and going at the marina (Tahoe City). Good food, not real fancy but reliable. Have been many times in summer, but this review is prompted by our experience this winter, around the Christmas holidays. The place was festive, not very crowded (... More

My family spent the Christmas holiday in South Lake Tahoe and we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and took the scenic drive around the lake. Getting hungry during the drive, we began browsing on our phones for a nice place to have lunch, thus finding Jake's on the Lake in Tahoe City. We stopped around 2:00 in... More

We are Jakes fans and this was our first try at Tahoe. Just a quick appetizer and beer to watch football. Disaster! We sat in bar area and the service just was terrible. The manager was so bad I will not malign him more but AVOID this place. 1/4/14 but never again...

Very good food, generous portions, and excellent drinks -- at a fair price in a delightful setting. Friendly wait staff, beautiful view. We came here twice on a 5-day visit to Lake Tahoe.

With views of beautiful Lake Tahoe, Jakes offers outside seating in the summer and cozy fireplace warmth in the winter. Guests may eat in the bar or the dining room. The bar has a special bar menu as well as the main menu. Clam chowder soup and the quionoa salad were excellent. The hearts of palm salad sounded terrific in... More

Whether dining at happy hour or enjoying a delicious dinner, Jakes' food, service, and ambiance (fabulous lake view) is consistently great. At happy hour, we enjoyed the udon noodle soup ( a meal in itself) and steak bites (with garlic mashed potatoes and avocado), along with a savory merlot and malbec. No meal would be complete without their famous hula... More

Jake's used to be a part of the TS Restaurants group out of Hawai'i, which has some really great places (Duke's in Waikiki was one of my favorites). But when we were dining at Jake's at Del Mar recently, the manager said that Jake's at the Lake was no longer part of the organization. Since we had had some good... More
