In general the restaurant was OK. We may have caught them on a bad night. Admittedly we had a large group of 15, but we tried to be very accommodating. The restaurant was NOT busy. While the bar service was solid, the restaurant absolutely lacked something. We had reservations and we were seated promptly. Problems include: 1. Wait staff was... More

Thank you so much for a wonderful meal. You made these 3 Australians feel welcome and comfortable. The food was original, delicious and thoughtfully constructed and presented. The view of the lake and Heavenly Valley was very special. a five star experience.

This hot spot is located on the other side of the lake from South Lake Tahoe. We always stop when we drive around the lake. Great lunch with charged atmosphere. You may have to wait in busy times but worth it. There is also a small mall attached for shopping. You also overlook a marina.

Sitting overlooking the small marina and the lake beyond the views were wonderful. The lunch menu was small but seemed to have something for everyone. A good glass of wine accompanied a lovely meal (although the first burger had to be returned as it had the wrong topping). It came back with the same fries and they were now cold.... More

This is a great place to enjoy the view of Lake Tahoe. It is not a great place to eat however. The mahi mahi that we ordered was past its prime and tasted fishy and old and tough. The service was inattentive at best. Specific requests such as please put the bacon on the side of a chicken sandwich was... More

Located right on the Lake Tahoe Marina - great views at sunset and happy hour. Large wine list. Great and varied menu with a touch of Hawaii.

Most of the upscale restaurants in the area were closed from Dec 1-17 which made it hard to find a place to eat. We showed up at Jake's late in the afternoon with a group of 10. They had a giant booth for us with a view of the marina. The service was really good but the food was off... More

I have vacationed regularly in Tahoe's North Shore for the past 35 years; and I'm always on the lookout for good-quality food. Jake's USED to be my very favorite. But, over the past 5 or so years, I have sometimes come away rather disappointed. The dinner menu offerings/variety seems to have lessened more and more, yet the prices seem to... More

We went to Jake's for Thanksgiving. The Thanksgiving menu was good.but the service was lousy. Our waitress had a great suggestion for our dining..but she was too loud, too abrupt, and did not remove our finished plates, empty H20 goblets, or wine glasses as she served the dessert. She also forgot one of the salads that our companion ordered. We... More
