Have frequented Jakes from time to time for the local flavor just laid back with wonderful view of the Lake and sky. My last couple visits I was more than pleasantly surprised at the meals I've enjoyed some of the best I've had in this area, fresh yummy and healthy options also. The staff is friendly and make you feel... More

Have been to Jake's a few times, generally the food is average and somethings very underwhelming. But we come here for the view, just next to a pier on the lake with ever changing skys - it's relaxing. Very enjoyable time with friendly staff

We always drive up to Lake Tahoe when we visit the wine country. The restaurant we normally go to was closed for the season so we tried Jakes. We realized we had been there many years ago and liked it. Well things have changed. The menu is basically overpriced bar food so we didn't try anything fancy. My daughter n... More

Tahoe has always had a special place in our hearts - we were married there at what used to be Caesar's Wedding Chapel (now a pool). Therefore, every year we go and eat someplace different. This year, my beloved chose Jake's On The Lake. What a nice surprise, and not a disappointment at all! We arrived around 5:30 on a... More

This restaurant is a little expensive but well worth the price. We were there for lunch and ordered Mahi Mahi, I think it was the best I have every had but it came with squash which I don't like but they came back with a plate of spinach, I never had better. There were four of us and we shared... More

First time in Tahoe City and arrived early evening. Jake's is a great find. Classy inside, superb service, excellent wine list and crowns it all with food that is both imaginative and delicious. This is definitely a gourmet venue that is a pity to miss when in this neck of the woods. My pork chop was filleted off the bone... More

We stopped here for lunch as it was one of our top choices for dinner. Very nice restaurant!! Both inside and out. So cozy on the lake. My tomato soup was heaven and my boyfriend and brother enjoyed the clam chowder. Then we had a BLT that was unlike anything I've ever had! It was on this delicious pita bread?... More

We stopped in here after a long day of skiing at Squaw Valley. Four of us in the party had the fillet which was tremendous. huge hunks of beef prepared to order. One in our party got the shrimp scampi special. It came out with 3 shrimp. 3 shrimp = 6 bites.....at a $30 price tag, wow. One of the... More

We stumbled upon this place while driving around Lake Tahoe. We were looking for a lunch spot with a great view and found the perfect place. This restaurant is beautiful and has such a great deck overlooking the lake. We ordered the calamari and the panko chicken sandwich - both were great. We had wonderful service and just couldn't get... More

This is one of those restaurants that you want to spend a couple hours just soaking up the scenery and enjoying a good cocktail before the meal. The atmosphere is everything you want at Lake Tahoe. The cocktail menu is clever and you are rewarded for being adventurous so try something unusual from their menu. Fish is a good choice... More
