On the way to Emerald Bay from Tahoe City, stop by Fire Sign Cafe for breakfast! It get's crowded on the weekends, but they have plenty of space, and will often open the outside deck seating. Great atmosphere, and great food. I think it was even showcased on the Food Channel or a similar show. If you stop here for... More

We ate here for breakfast. Good food. Lots of homemade items. Reasonably priced. Walking distance from Sunnyside Lodge.

Fire sign serves the full breakfast and lunch menu until 3PM. We had really great service. Our kids raved that the pankcakes were the best they'd ever had, so I had to try a couple bites, and they really were light and fluffy and terrific. Unfortunately the sausage was a bit burned and they wouldn't touch it. I had turkey... More

crowded at peak breakfast and lunch times. Waiting area allows you to purchase very good coffee, expresso drinks, hot chocolate and OJ. Due to popularity it's rough for very large crowds but they can accomodate a good size group if you are willing to wait. However it's better if you plan for several tables/off peak time. Good value for the... More

Always love this place. Today shared some French toast and egg sandwich. Everything was great. Service was awesome and nice to be here when it is not slammed, as it gives the place a little more Charm. A must hit of anywhere in the area.

I went there on a Thursday around 11:45 and it was full. Very good sign. I ordered the Eggs Benedict as recommended by Sunset Magazine. It was phenomenal. It had a little more lemon overtone that the rest but it made it so you wanted more. The home fries were good but something happened with mine but I won't review... More

We were staying at S. Lake Tahoe, and found this place based on Trip Advisor reviews. We weren't disappointed! We stopped here on a trip around the lake and didn't get there until around lunch time, although we saw a number of other customers eating breakfast at 1:30 in the afternoon. Maybe we'll go for breakfast next time, but lunch... More

This little cafe is a gem. Friendly staff, incredibly fresh and delicious food, and gluten free options galore (I was so happy!). I don't often get to eat sandwiches, let alone excellent ones, but Fire Sign Cafe served up the best turkey ruben I've ever had (including my pre-GF days!). The bread was wonderful and perfectly grilled and the sandwich... More

This unassuming restaurant serves wonderful, freshly prepared, excellent food. The menu is varied and uses seasonal ingredients. The place is not large so you may wait a bit, but well worth it. The staff is friendly and helpful. Rustic decor.
