Since 1978, Fire Sign Cafe has been a family owned and operated Breakfast and Lunch restaurant. We pride ourselves on our extensive menu, full of homemade food. Our restaurant has been a local favorite since it opened. It has been featured in several publications such as Sunset Magazine, as well as shown on Rachael Ray's, "Tasty Travels". Our great service and even better food are what keep people coming back!

Fire Sign so good it's alarming!

On my recent trip to Tahoe, a trusted long-time local suggested I stop at Fire Sign Cafe on the day's trek from North Lake Tahoe to Emerald Bay. Known for the best omelettes in Tahoe, I had to stop in. Ordered the "Joe's Special," Ground beef, onion, spinach, mushrooms, jack cheese, garlic, and... read more

We ventured to Tahoe City as part of a trip to the dumps and selected Fire Sign Café for lunch based on the fabulous ratings and commentary in TA. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch only. Since it was near noon on a Sat, we had a pleasant 20 minute wait in a garden area with plastic chairs... More

You can tell a restaurant by how many locals frequent it...Fire Sign Cafe is a favorite with locals. Summer means there is seating outside which is super because it means more space for all the additional travelers who find Fire Sign! We enjoyed many times on the menu and would recommend them all.

Over 15 years ago, by chance, we stopped in for breakfast at the Fire Sign because the restaurant we were driving to was closed. It was superb then, and it remains the same! We intentionally drove an hour from South Lake Tahoe to have breakfast and were not disappointed! Timing is everything as we were able to be seated outside... More

6 adults (several with lactose intolerance and other food allergies) plus a 2 year old and a 3 month old baby were seamlessly accommodated with smiles all around when we ordered "one-offs" of many menu items. All the food was delicious. The service was superb. They make many of their own breads, sauces, etc in-house with high grade ingredients. This... More

The Fire Sign Cafe is the best restaurant for breakfast and lunch. It is frequented by the locals and that says it all. It has been around for a long time. The food is awesome and there is a lot of it. Most dishes can be split if you so desire.

We got there about 10:00am and had to wait about 20 minutes but the receptionist gave us coffees and were able to sit outside on a bench on a nice day. The inside is has tight corners and is kind of crowded but a friendly vibe. (The men's restroom location is in the small hallway where the employees are constantly... More

We passed up on the hotel's free continental breakfast 2 out of the 3 mornings we were at Lake Tahoe because the coffee, juice & breakfasts here were SO good! From eggs Benedict, to French toast to the Spanish omelet - it was all fantastic. Pricey, but so much food it counted as breakfast & lunch for us, which made... More
