Took advantage of the "No Snow" special of 50% off on a Monday night. Were greeted when we arrive and seated immediately at a table overlooking the river. Water and drink orders were taken right away and then we were told of the specials. Warm bread and butter was served which we enjoyed while we waited for our appetizer- the... More

we have lunch at the River Ranch Restaurant many times. The outdoor seating area is located at the end of the Truckee River rafting area an offers great views of the river and people. Food for the outdoor area is self-service at a walk-up BBQ. Limited menu, but very good. There is both at walk-up full bar and table service.... More

Wonderful dinner at the River Ranch last night. First the setting is so cool. We ate in the bar area with the sound of the river serenading us. I had the pork chop, which was delicious and gluten free, my partner had the prime rib special and really enjoyed it. Can't wait to return.

I have fond memories of my first meal at The River Ranch nearly 20 years ago, and I still remember how great the elk was! My husband and I have been back a handful of times over the years, and had a recent opportunity to take our kids there. The patio was closed for a "private party" (which turned out... More

The River Ranch is where we ended our day of rafting and caught the shuttle bus back to Tahoe City to pick up our truck. We've been to the River Ranch for dinner prior and this experience reinforced our initial observations: average food, average service, spectacular views of the river rushing by.

We came here for dinner on short notice with a large group, and our experience could not have been better. The place was casual and elegant at the same time. Our food was delicious, and the ambiance, with the river running right by, was just too good.

I visited the River Ranch as part of a large party celebrating a family reunion. The restaurant staff were very accommodating and met our every need. It was a warm and beautiful mountain evening and the large patio overlooking the Truckee River was a fantastic location for drinks before dinner. Speaking of dinner, the meals were excellent. Try their Chicken... More

We were hoping to sit outside by their lovely setting on the Truckee River outside of Lake Tahoe but the weather did not permit. But the interior restaurant was lovely. Everything we had was delicious....from the trout to our entrees of halibut and diver scallops. Highly recommend it.

We are here last night because of the patio view over the Truckee River. We were astonished how poor the service and food have become. The menu is minimalist and uninteresting. The service was terrible- we waited more than an hour after ordering. But the only thing worse than the service was the food itself. Smoked trout was paper thin,... More
