After the Afghan House closed, a friend introduced us to "Kabul Afghan Cuisine" in Sunnyvale. A little hard to find in the back of a small shopping center off El Camino, but well worth the effort. We had the KABAB-E-CHUPAN, marinated lamb loin chops, charbroiled on a skewer, and served on a bed of pallaw rice. The server expertly removed... More

The food is good, might be excellent if cooked based on new and modern style as less salt and less than well done. Service is nice , not professional. Overall is a good deal.

My second wife and I use Entertainment.com and Restaurant.com coupons and other discount coupons every chance we get -one of the legacies of my first wife -me always married to a coupon lady! However Kabul doesn't have discount coupons, and they aren't any good on holidays anyways. We always go to Kabul on major holidays, especially Valentine's night, just like... More

My friend told me about this place - I believe there's another location farther up the Peninsula. It was fantastic. If you've never had Afghan food, give it a try!

For a small restaurant in the back of a strip mall, this place was incredibly good. It would have been a good restaurant no matter what the location, as a matter of fact. Neither my husband nor I had ever had Afghan food, although we love Middle Eastern and Indian food. This has characteristics of both, with its own great... More

Have eaten here for years. Time to write them the top review that they deserve. The kebabs are large, well flavored, and perfectly cooked. My favorites are lamb, chicken, or shrimp. Great for an intimate dinner, but they can handle a group just fine. Small venue, however they seem to keep the room flowing with plenty of servers. Appetizers are... More

Great decor and courteous staff, but the portions are very bid. No one in oye party of 6 could finish their dishes. Unlike other middle eastern places where are the Kebabs are always spiced and well done. We found the meat here closer to medium-rare and not as tasty as we would have liked. It is possible we chose the... More

We used to live near this restaurant many years ago, and had always planned to go but never got around to it. We were back in town on a trip and so finally went there. I had the Kabab-e-Chupan, my companions had the seafood combo and the Kabab-e-Murgh. We finished up by sharing the "elephant ear" dessert. All of us... More

A favorite in Sunnyvale, I bring visitors who enjoy Afghan food to Kabuls. Their lamb dishes are delicious and always satisfying. They have a very nice selection of main courses. Service has always been great. It's conveniently located on a busy street with plenty of parking. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

I have been eating at Kabul for 10+ years now and every time the food is fantastic. Prices are reasonable too! I recommend the Kabob e murgh, (chicken kabob), but my wife loves the salmon kabob. Also the Mantu (lamb dumplings) is wonderful- great appetizer but also a nice entree. I love the pallaw seasoned rice as well as the... More
