We are a NY pizza shop. We serve slices and whole pies. I moved out here from NYC back in 1998 and within a couple of months, I started talking about a pizza shop. I wasn’t going to leave my hi-tech job to do it, but when corporate life was no longer for me, A Slice of New York was born, September 2006 in San Jose, CA. In January 2011, we opened up our second location in Sunnyvale, CA. It has features our original one does not: lots of seating, abundant parking, and beer on tap. We hope to see you soon.

Very good slice of NYC Pizza

It is in walking distance to the hotel and the pizza is good. They even have a great IPA. A nice and friendly place, check it out

We stopped in for a slice while visiting for the day. We chose it foe the reviews and the fact that there was actual seating for Patrons. The pizza was very tasty. There are lots of options for pizza. I love the thin, crispy crust. I wish there were a bit more topics. other than that, we had a food... More

Happily this place reminds me of the excellent "pizza by the inch" that's available all over Rome, Italy. Here you can order a large slice that they'll heat up in a scorching oven so that you'll have crispy crust pizza q-u-i-c-k-l-y! We like the variety of the slices they offer including what you'd expect like pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, olives,... More

There is a good selection of pizza slices to choose from. Pick a couple and enjoy. There were several of us and we all enjoyed what we ordered.

This New Yorker needed comfort food after an otherwise stressful birthday in which lots of things went... Other than as planned ;) So, New York style pizza! Which this is. The taste is spot-on, as is the thinness of the crust and the way the cheese, sauce and bread meld together. My one teensy quibble is that the crust could... More

I'm a displaced New Yorker who is always looking for a good slice of pizza to take me back home, and ASoNY quickly became one of my go-to stops on business trips to the Sunnyvale area. You can clearly see the difference between the attitude here and the dime-a-dozen "New York style" pizza shops everywhere else. From the graffiti walls,... More

It is always so rewarding to hear fellow New Yorkers speak highly of our product. Our goal is to create an environment and pizza that you could drop into a neighborhood in Manhattan and would do just fine. I believe we do that. I am glad you feel the same way. We hope to get meat patties next! Kind regards,... More

I am not from New York, so can't comment on how authentic. But I thought it was great. Crust was thin, sauces and toppings were delicious. I liked the subway car-like dining area. They also had great beers on tap and HUGE fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.

Hi Bradd, Thanks for the review! We actually discontinued the cookie as we were concerned about the quality. We liked it, but didn't feel it met our standards. Hope to see you next time you are in the area. -Kirk Owner, A Slice of New York More

The service is great and the pizza is very tasty. I never been to you New York but many people I do know agree that this place is pretty authentic. The garlic knots are great too! Definitely a good place to go to grab a bite.

As a native New Yorker (Brooklyn, to be precise), I'm always skeptical when a pizza place outside of NY says it serves "real NY pizza." This place really does, by the slice or by the pie, and even Sicilian. This is my go-to pizza place in the area. Atmosphere is great, too; not quite authentic NY pizzeria, but authentic NY.

Hi Eliot, It's always great to see a fellow NY native find our place (I'm from Manhattan). Our SJ shop is probably more inline with what you are thinking about. The SJ shop is our flagship location; a culmination of 8+ years of thought and planning and desire! I modeled it after the corner shop back home, counter seating and... More
