Forget the view---good food!

It's not on the beach and you have no water view but no worries, great clam chowder and fish tacos. Club sandwich was excellent as well.

The atmosphere and layout of the restaurant was great and it what was expected for a place near the beach. Our group had dinner on a Tuesday night and the place was quite busy and had live music ( a plus).. The server was knowledgeable and helpful through out the meal. ( a plus).. The food however was not up... More

Was recommended this place by a friend, was told the best fish n chips ever! I do not agree, average piece of fish and served with French fries not chips (us Brits would know the difference). The place is very popular and feels more like a bar serving food than a restaurant serving drinks. It got very noisy as people... More

wish we could pick tonight's dinner place all over again - we would not pick sand dollar. we arrived just after 5pm and they were out clams, salmon, prawns, ahi ahi, and scallops. and they were out of guiness draft, as well, as two other drafts ordered by neighboring tables. so, we ordered calamari and what we thought was safe,... When you want food and a drink at a reasonable price and late night activity, this is the place. Weather permitting, outdoor seating is a must. Rustic beachy, but fun.

Wow! It has been a long time since I could not eat a meal. The petite steak was susposed to be medium rare - it was well done and hard to cut with sharp knife. They Pinot noir was thin (horrible) and way over priced. They were over booked, over crowded and under staffed. I only took a couple of... More

Fish and chips looked amazing but weren't. Fish was oddly tough end chewy, and a bit flavorless. Chips (fries) were not especially fresh. Cocktail sauce had a gelatinous texture. Tarter sauce was basically mayonnaise. Waitress was great. Price was high.

After a day of wrestling with the waves at Stinson Beach, we were famished and came upon the only restaurant open at the time. With no shaded tables left, we chose to sit on the patio anyway. Sitting outside was lovely, even though it is next to the street. Being by the sea, we expected some amazing seafood. I ordered fish... More

On our short visit to the area we stopped in to The Sand Dollar for a bite to eat and a beverage. There was nothing that really appealed to us on the menu, both selection and cost so we had a beverage after our long drive. Beer was $6 each. We felt we were being gouged. If you want to... More

A quiet, little place with as many locals as tourists. The seafood was great. Roasted Wild Kins Salmon was tender and tasty. Shrimp Ceviche with Papaya was one of th best this ceviche-searcher has found. Hubby had a sushi appetizer which he loved. Didn't bother with desert. It might have been great but we didn't want the calories.
