It was a nice sunny day when we arrived. We could sit on the patio or inside. We choose inside. The inside was very clean with a full bar crow which made it a happier place. The restaurant is well lite and there is room between tables. We have both eaten here in the past and felt it was a... More

This is a restaurant we've been going to for years mainly for their excellent beer battered fish and chips; however, in the last couple of years they have substantially upgraded their food! Their clams pasta are terrific -- particularly if you like garlic; their wedges are topped by very good blue cheese The last time we were there they served... More

We visited for Monday night dinner and Tuesday lunch. Dinner on Monday was more crowded than we expected. We learned that more locals from Bolinas come over since the restaurant there is closed on Monday. For dinner we had the filet tartar which was good, more non-steak components than usual in the pile of tartar. Generous with the mustard which... More

The calamari we ordered came in a huge bowl - suffice it to say more than the two of us could eat. But the grease floating at the bottom of the basket was a turn off........the calamari were just far too greasy. An order of mussels and sausage was also huge, but the broth was so salty my dinner companion... More

After hiking above Muir Woods, we drove out to Stinson for dinner. Sand Dollar's location is ok. Outdoor seating very casual and rustic. Menu has nice offerings and food is tasty. Son had clams with pasta which he was thrilled with. Calamari was lightly breaded and good. Attentive service. Wish outdoor atmosphere was bit nicer and more comfortable. Not much... More

I had one of my most enjoyable meals at the Sand Dollar Restaurant. We were there for lunch. I opted to order off the dinner menu - seared scallops served over fava beans, asparagus and wild mushrooms. It was wonderful - perfect. My husband ordered fresh oysters and the fish tacos - he liked both. The oysters were delicious. One... More

I went here due to a good review in a guide book but was let down. Nothing bad about the place - its pretty basic, the garlic fries were good as was the mac and cheese - beet salad nice but lacked any acidity in the dressing. For a pretty simple lunch I thought it seriously overpriced.

My husband and I ate here several years ago. We found the place by accident. He wanted to see Stinson Beach because the movie Turner and Hooch was filmed here. It was late, we were hungry, and Sand Dollar was open. What a great place! Recently we had the opportunity to visit with friends in Castro Valley, so we suggested... More

We've been to the Sand Dollar several times and never been disappointed. Today was no different. My husband ordered fish and chips and loved that the fish was cod and fried perfectly. My fish tacos were the best ever. Beautifully fried fish, fresh ingredients including avocado and a tasty cabbage slaw with a very nice sauce that had a sweet... More
