Close to our hotel and recommended by hotel staff. My wife had the sole and it was very good. The other 3 of us had the pappardelli special with smoked salmon and mushroom. It was very good. Accompanied by a nice Pinot Grigio. Waiter was attentive and had a good sense of humour. Would go here again if staying nearby.

I grew up in SoCity and this is always my Go To place for local Italian food. It is delicious and always service with a smile. Many, many dinners here with family and friends, order the Sole, yum! The chicken Marsala is delectable and you'll want to bring home leftovers, but you'll eat it all. The staff here is extremely... More

I was stuck in So. San Francisco, and at the end of the day did not want to drive into the city and fight traffic to get the famous food. I found this gem and two (to date) most satisfying meals, and I don't like Italian. Perfect calamari rings, perfect calamari steak and clams and linguine to die for. All... More

Leaving SFO after a long business week in the area randomly chose this spot. It was warm, relaxing friendly environment. Staff made me feel right at home. A wonderful neighborhood restaurant with many repeat customers all around us. Besides the delicious food the owner came by to greet us, and even entertained us with some excellent magic tricks. What a... More

While staying in South San Fran the hotel recommended this as a good spot for local family owned Italian food. Service was great, but the food wasn't. I ordered a basic staple - lasagna which was a bit bland. The wine was fantastic, and the company always make the experience but certainly this isn't a restaurant I'd return to for... More

One goes to a restaurant for great food and this place did not disappoint. Calamari was fried perfectly; mozzarella caprese had great flavor; the two entrees we had risotto pescatore and cioppino were flavorful. The only issue was my Tiramisu was frozen in the middle indicating to me it was made in bulk elsewhere ( I was hoping for fresh... More

Upon the recommendation from our hotel staff at the nearby Courtyard, my husband and I decided to "go Italian" for our last night in San Francisco. Wow! The food, atmosphere, and service were a delight. Staff is friendly and outgoing, we feel like we made some new friends. The carpaccio is a must! My husband had veal, and I opted... More

We visited San Francisco three years ago and ate at Buon Gusto. It was a random selection and we were very pleased with the food and ambience. So when we returned to the area last week, we wanted to eat there again. It was as good as we remembered. The food was excellent and the manager came over several times... More

We flew to San Francisco to start our week long vacation and asked the Hotel for a recommendation. What a great surprise. Excellent authentic Italian food combined with exceptional service. Our waiter not only knew food but gave us good advice for the week ahead of driving the coast. We will return when ever we come back.
