Fantastic food, fantastic service. . . Bistro de la Gare has amped up with the new ownership/ From the escargot to the moule frite and sea bass special, all was terrific. We will continue to return. This is our favorite South Pasadena restaurant. Merci!

(Very) good French/Italian Bistro food. Better location/inside-outside seating than most every other restaurant in South Pas/Pas/La Canada. Best Atmosphere for diner or esp. for Sat/Sun brunch. Go...but, please don't tell everyone...only your closest friends/family..it's pretty small!

We were not interested in visiting Bistro De La Gare again but recently i saw a sign saying under new management. I am happy to say that this restaurant is sooo much better now.. The place has seriously rebounded from a dark hole!!!

The food was acceptable but not up the standard of a quality French Bistro. The wines were expensive. The atmosphere while decent was not special.

Our kids raved about this restaurant, having had two really great dinners there in the last month, so when we planned to meet them for dinner this weekend we asked to go to Bistro De La Gare to see why they thought it so good. They were right. At the end of the evening we all raved about the food.... More

This is one of the worst establishments masquerading as a restaurant that I have ever been in. There's nothing French about this place other than the over done accents they're using. To call it a bistro is an insult to the French, who are known for their cuisine. It is not hyperbole when I tell you that you are better... More

We arrived about 4:45 pm for the opening at 5 pm to celebrate a wedding anniversary with 7 family members (all adults). We were willing to pay the higher prices for a French meal. It was 1 1/2 hours before we were served. Unfortunately only one of the dinners was satisfactory, the fillet of sole looked perfect. The rest of... More

This was one of the worst meals I have had in a long time. First our party of 7 waited almost an hour and 1/2 to get our meal and we were the very first party to arrive when it opened at 5 pm. When we did it was terrible. I had a filet mignon that was tough and tasteless.... More

I recently had dinner with a group of three friends at this restaurant, and felt as though I was back in France--and that's a good thing! From the moment you walk into the front door of this atmospheric, authentic-feeling French bistro located in a cute, leafy neighborhood adjacent to the train station (thus the name), you are greeted in French...
