In contrast to the predictability of institutional coffee houses, this French eatery, take-out and market exudes character and charm. Inside, it's not quite bright and orderly so one can revert a bit in time, exploring the canned and bagged food products being offered, or admiring the whole cotton Provencal kitchen towels or hand-made baskets. Prices are quite reasonable, so put... More

Excellant place for lunch or for a post Farmers Market supper. Fresh sandwiches, salads, and pastries make for a delicious meal. The small market inside the restaurant makes it easy to find French favorites.

You will be happy you found this little gem of a place, a bit hidden from the roads most travelled in town. Nicole's is French and features a small menu with delightful sandwiches and cheeses. There is also a large wine selection and their croissants will make you swear you are in a cafe in Paris.

Lovely French cafe with varied, light fare. Can't pick out a favorite but probably fall back on the Croque Monsieur more often then not when I can't make a choice. Just the right portions and proportion. Do take time to look around their delightful shoppe. A great variety of unusual spices and delicious cheeses are offered as well as unique... More

Any time of any day you will see patrons lingering on the patio sipping wine and enjoying light fare, such as my favorite, a smoked duck salad. Even better is the shop itself, with lots of gourmet cheeses, and some truly delectable surprises in the freezer (mini beef wellingtons).

Soups, salads, sandwiches, cheeses, breads, beer & wine, coffee, tea, pastries. I stop for lunch or sometimes just coffee/tea and a pastry at Nicole's whenever I'm in So. Pasadena, which is often. The pastries are all made there and are nonpareil (without equal), all of them. My particular favorites are the lemon tart and the flourless chocolate cake (let it... More

Been going to Nicole's for years. Everything on the menu is delicious - the duck salad is my particular favorite. This is also a great resource for oils, vinegar, all sorts of beans, prepared foods and baking supplies (like prepared tartlet shells). The chocolate mousse cup is fabulous.

I would have given this place 4 stars not too long ago, but I give it 3 stars now. Selection of cheese is not as wide and the menu for eat-in dining has been pared down. I buy cheeses here for entertaining and they always get compliments, though. Common question: "Where did you get this?" So it gets 4 stars... More
