OMG - what a hidden gem. We normally just head home for dinner after a long afternoon on Capitola Beach but tonight, decided to go to Cafe Cruz, the best decision we made. Pros - There were 4 adults and 3 kids in our party and so, we got to try variety of foods - Ambiance is nice, outside doesn't... More

From the street, Cafe Cruz looks like it could be the third "D" on Guy Fieri's Food Network show. Going through the rear patio and entering the lounge and dining areas present a totally different view. First off, parking can be a problem so get there a couple of minutes early; second, make sure you have a reservation regardless of... More

I have dined here several times for both lunch and dinner. Each time the meal has been amazing. I love the Monterey Caesar salad served at lunch. The greens are very fresh and the calamari they put on it is succulent. The service is also outstanding.

Very popular for a reason. Inside was noisy but very nice. Outside seating is amazing , fireplace, fire pit and overhead heaters made it comfortable. Service was great. Food was cooked very well , good flavors and good portions for the price point. I will definitely go again. Note: when bread is served the little dish you think is butter... More

We went to Cafe Cruz while visiting Santa Cruz for our anniversary. We arrived in Santa Cruz in mid-afternoon so we went for a late-lunch/early-dinner around 3:30pm. The Cafe Cruz has an abbreviated menu until 5:00 but it was terrific! The main dining room is closed until five but the bar room and the outside patio are open. This is... More

We enjoyed a good, tender steak meal - (veggies extra and in very small portions) - and savoured a reasonable wine list. The roasted chicken dishes are sweetened with various sauces - if sugar is your thing. We found the indoor ambience uncomfortably loud. Avoid the "podium tables" near the bar if you want to converse without shouting. Very crowded... More

This is a nice restaurant with good quality food, maybe a bit expensive for the quality. You need to know the restaurant, because it is not in the centre and it doesn't look great from the outside

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the interior decor and the patio area are very nice. The cocktails are very good and the baby back rib special is excellent.

We stumbled upon this place as we were looking for someplace to have lunch before going to Discretion Brewing. It happens to be almost next door! We enjoyed the outdoor seating, the extensive lunch menu, and the attentive wait staff. The food was well prepared as they try to use local produce as much as possible. Indoor and outdoor seating,...
