I went here for dinner my first night in town. Had fish and chips and a root beer float. Both were quite satisfying.

We Went to The Breakaway Cafe for dinner, after a day of wine-tasting. The pulled pork tacos and fish tacos were both very good-- we did a mix and match and shared both. The restaurant is bright and has ample seating, no reservations taken or needed. Our server was pleasant and attentive. This really was a nice break away from... More

We have been to Breakaway for breakfast, which is always great, and thought we'd try it for dinner. My husband had a very tender and juicy steak, I had the lamb special. This was the best lamb I had ever eaten in a restaurantp; it was melt in my mouth tender and very flavorful. The portion was huge. Our wait... More

This is a place where locals go but one where tourists are welcome. Nice resturant with reasonable prices and good food. We only had breakfast and enjoyed the Banana Waffle. Was more then enough for one person. I recommend this place when you want to get away for the Tourist ( Sonoma Plaza).

How can a bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich with a side of slaw rate a five star review, you ask? The answer: when every single component on the plate is perfect! Fabulous ciabatta bread, perfectly ripe avocado, plenty of lean, non-greasy bacon, beautiful baby romaine, ripe tomatoes, and interesting dressing. I ate every bite, even though I was full... More

The food is fresh, delicious and varied. Great service. The owner is often there and immediately responsive to the smallest problem. It's the kind of place you drop in for breakfast, lunch or dinner when you want familiar and good.

I decided to have steak for our anniversary. We have usually gone to Cattlemen's for steak, but just didn't want to leave town. I'm greatly impressed with the chef's work. Not only was the steak better than ever I actually enjoyed the creamed spinach.

Our family of four have been enjoying food at Breakaway Cafe for too many years to count. The owner if often on site and very accessible to talk to. The food is fresh, often locally sourced and they have some wonderful recipes and they are willing to share the ingredient list. Their Breakaway Fizz is a delicious breakfast treat. When... More

We stopped here for lunch because of the good T-A reviews, and the much more varied menu than other spots in the area. The Salade Nicoise is one of my wife's favorite salads, and the traditional Cobb salad sounded great to me. Both were very good, although they had run out of tuna, so my inventive wife, and a cooperative... More

We have eaten dinner at The Breakaway Cafe several times over the years when we visit family in Sonoma. The food is consistently good and a great value. Their menu is a bit old-fashioned and leans toward "comfort" food, but it works very well here. The Breakaway Cafe is obviously a very popular spot with the locals and does a... More
