Serendipitous find!

So we left our hotel in Glen Ellen on Saturday night and headed to the cocktail lounge up the block that we usually have martinis at when we're in town. It was closed! We started driving south on 12, although we didn't really want to go into Sonoma Plaza and all the hub-bub. Sitting at the edge... read more

My family has been going to the Breakaway Café for many years and find it to be a consistently good restaurant with good choices and excellent food. We love their holiday and seasonal special menus and wouldn't miss going there for St. Patrick's Day! We usually do either breakfast/brunch or dinner and find both menus offered at these meals to... When we asked for a breakfast place recommendation, Breakaway Cafe was everyones first choice. We had huevos rancheros, probably the best I have ever eaten. Many of the dishes come in two sizes so you can choose the size you wish. Prices were very reasonable

Upon a recommendation from friends, we decided to try the Breakaway Cafe for our last meal before leaving Sonoma. The food was, very good. We started with the calamari friti which was huge, and some of the best that I've ever eaten. My meatloaf was very good, with mashed potatoes and green beans...definite comfort food. My wife had the chicken piccata... More

An OK place for a quick bite. Dinner prices high for value received. Hit or miss on entrees - good one time not so good the next.

My family and I have found this Cafe to be our favorite in Sonoma...great food...great service! Also, we are able to hear ourselves think because of the low ceiling...we are able to talk at a normal level to ourselves and to the staff...the meal we all had last night was excellent!

We had family in town for the Thanksgiving holiday. After a few days of leftovers, we needed a break from turkey. The menu offered options for everyone at the table. You could tell the kitchen took care with each dish. The wait staff was friendly without being gushy. You can tell that some of the other guests are regulars, like... More

Meandering back from the Sonoma Wine Country on a Sunday afternoon, we were lucky to pass this Cafe en route home. Our excellent server, Anita, warned me that because of the quality of the beef this burger would take a bit longer to prepare, but it was definitely worth the wait. The fried onions, the cheese, the rare beef........every bite... More

Mahri and I had a perfect meal today. Anita is so on point as to delivering a special experience. We are eating gluten free and she offered an alternative Corn Tortillas .. Our Corned Beef hash was cooked to perfection. The bus staff were through on checking with our needs. I highly recommend the Breakaway Cafe.. I used to run... More
