Description: The DEPOT HOTEL RESTAURANT is a charming neighborhood restaurant located...
The DEPOT HOTEL RESTAURANT is a charming neighborhood restaurant located in an historic stone building just a block off the Plaza in Sonoma. Locals and visitors to the Wine Country enjoy casual Tuscan-inspired cuisine in the Vinoteca, in the cozy dining rooms, and on the terraces surrounding the shady Italian garden and reflection pool. Food is a passion at the DEPOT HOTEL RESTAURANT for the father and son Chef team--whether it is making house-made antipasti, or handmade pasta, or fresh ricotta. In addition to products made in-house, the Sonoma wine country around us offers an abundance of new artisanal products. The search for the best local products is a treasure hunt both chefs enjoy--whether from the coast, local farms, or local cheese makers. Come join us for a trattoria-style lunch or dinner...or just drop into our Vinoteca for informal small plates of antipasti and a glass of wine. Our focus is casual Italian comfort food--served in an informal Sonoma wine country atmosphere.

Quiet Gem

dined the night we arrived in Sonoma. Small, quiet restaurant. Excellent service and a nice selection of items from the menu. Portions not too large(this is good) and very well prepared. Nice setting for the restaurant.

We really wanted to like this place but it fell a bit short. The dining room and patio overlooking the pool area provided a nice setting, although the TV's hanging above the bar and the staff hanging around waiting for customers didn't seem to match the upscale ambiance they were clearly aiming for. The menu too seemed a bit conflicted,... More

We're locals and have always enjoyed this restaurant's atmosphere and their delicious food. It's always been our go to choice. However, visited recently and were taken aback by the increased menu prices. That was one big jump and gives us pause about returning in the future. I still give it a very good rating with regard to the food but... More

Quaint, historic hotel in a great location with plenty of parking available in lot across the street. We were seated outside in a lovely spot surrounding the pool. Flowering bushes and plants surrounded the area making it private and so beautiful. Our service was good and the menu offered many different choices for lunch. Everything from pizza, sandwiches and heavier... More

Love the food. Love the service. Recommend the mushroom pizza. Outside seating is beautiful. Based on several visits and opinions of 6 picky sisters.

We arrived a few minutes before our reservation on Valentine's Day. The table was not ready, no biggie, we were offered a seat at the bar to wait. This should have been our first sign that the service was going to be unacceptable. Our party of 4 sat unattended for 15 minutes. Several enployeess were behind the bar and one... More

I can's say enough about this great little restaurant. We arrived early and sat at the bar to enjoy a few cocktails, the staff went out of their way to find us the perfect table. We are so glad we selected the Depot Hotel restaurant for our Thanksgiving meal. The property itself is small and quaint with an outdoor seating... More

We enjoyed the restaurant and view of the beautiful outside court, with pool/fountain and fireplace. Waiter was just o.k., did nothing to make us feel welcome and barely smiled. The food was decent but nothing terribly memorable or rave worthy. Decent portions and fairly diverse menu. Between the six of us, we tasted a variety of things on the menu.... More
