Executive chef Armando Navarro's farm driven cuisine is a collection of earthy yet sophisticated, complex yet straightforward dishes that showcase the essence of seasonal produce. Chef Navarro sources his ingredients from local purveyors and nearby Sonoma farms, a commitment and dedication that is in line with El Dorado’s overall eco-friendly green initiatives.Navarro’s deeply satisfying cuisine can be enjoyed at El Dorado Kitchen. In the center of the main dining room, parties of up to 22 can gather around a 21-foot-long table fashioned from a single wood plank reclaimed from a Vermont bridge. This table is perfectly positioned to afford each diner a view of the artistic talents hard at work in the open kitchen. An outdoor courtyard allows diners to enjoy the beauty of Sonoma. Enjoy dinner under the fig trees and the clear Sonoma sky or take your lunch pool-side in your own private cabana or on one of the inviting day beds by the pool. We also offer casual dining in our lobby, nestled next to the glowing fireplace.

150 year old fig tree on the patio

Great place combines historical and modern architecture. Fig tree is the biggest I ever saw. Had heirloom tomato salad, vegetable fettuccini, tuna tartare, tapioca dessert and fried apricot pie. All were very good. Great wine list, friendly service. Just all good.

We have hit many of the restaurants in Sonoma and this one stands out. We ate in the courtyard, and luckily had a great waiter (Harry.) Tried the St. Simon oysters for the first time (even my wife tried them) and they were excellent! A recommendation from Harry. Truffle fries, oh my! If you have them as an appetizer, you... More

The food and service were both good at this busy restaurant. We were seated right beside the kitchen serving counter which was a bit noisy and distracting. If this doesn't appeal ask to be seated elsewhere.

We had a very delicious, fun dinner here. Excellent food, especially the salad. Dessert was phenomenal too.

We came here on a recommendation by a local. The whole vibe the minute we walked in was great and very inviting. We sat outside near the pool area and watched the beautiful sunset in Sonoma. Some of us had the salmon, I had the paella, and another one had the swordfish. Overall a great meal and reasonably priced. I... More

Had an impromptu lunch here and were very pleased. Had walked by multiple times and just never went in for some reason. A friend saw we were in town and recommended this place. She was so right. The meal was wonderful and the service was excellent and friendly. I would give it 5 stars but would like to come for... More

There are already so many detailed reviews about the fabulous food, so I'll just add that it's unique to the Sonoma Plaza in that it has a "bigger city" feel because of the modern, chic atmosphere. It's a great place to meet friends or a date for a pre-dinner drink, even if you plan to have dinner somewhere else. I... More

Went to dinner on our first night in Sonoma with a fairly large group on a weeknight. Were able to sit right away, hostess was very nice. We were seated in the poolside 'cabana' on a beautiful evening, so the setting couldn't have been better. Our waitress was awesome, really friendly and chatty, and made excellent recommendations. Food and drink... More

Excellent food and service. The Paella was delicious! My husband had a 16 oz pork chop that had been brined and it was tender and so flavorful. Would go back when in Sonoma again.

The service was good and the food was wonderful. The starter, Tuna Tatar was the best I have had anywhere. The vegetable paella was excellent. The only problem was the sun around 6PM...we just couldn't get it blocked away. Although there are canvas tent like awnings to pull, they just didn't cover enough to keep sun off faces. I think...
