Delightful offerings at a classy restaurant

Some of the best wait staff I have ever seen in an area restaurant. Preparation and presentation was excellent. Quality of food: UNCOMPROMISING! I cannot believe this was the first time I ate here considering how often I go to downtown Sonoma.

Had dinner with the family. Food was great and servers were very nice and accommodating to my two children. They were the only two children in the restaurant and I was apprehensive to begin with (even though my kids are pretty well behaved) I hate getting nasty stares from people who think their dinner will be ruined by a "family."... We stopped in for dinner after wine tasting during the afternoon. We shared a couple of appetizers, the ahi tuna with wasabi cavier and the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio (a little surf and turf). Both were amazing. We shared the Seafood Paella which is more than enough for two people and had a nice assortment of seafood and a touch of... More

Just had drinks, of which there were a variety of unique offerings from the cocktail menu. Enjoyed the setting, would go again.

The El Dorado Kitchen was recommended to us by the concierge at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn when we asked for a restaurant with a simple menu that we could understand. I am not sure what his definition was, because we could hardly find anything we thought was edible. My husband had a salad and I had the Dover sole.... More

4 of us (2 couples) went for dinner on our last night in Sonoma. Red Hook cocktail is delicious!! We shared crab cake, beet salad and the octopus appetizers. Enjoyed all of them. The entrees were equally delicious. One minor complaint- having to show the waiter our ID's at the table after we ordered drinks and wine... No one at... More

Booked at table after much searching as the choices in Sonoma are mind boggling. But we hit the jackpot. The pork belly was to die for the wine was fab the Pasta perfect. There is a great loud happy atmosphere which adds to the whole dining experience. To sum it up EAT HERE.

Dinner at the El dorado kitchen on the square in Sonoma was terrific. The appetizers were interesting, well prepared and tasty: crab cake, shrimp and grits, pork belly and asparagus salad. One better than the next and perfect for sharing. The duck and sole entrees were outstanding, but the carbonara and the ravioli left much to be desired. In particular,... More

The current kitchen has really changed the food quality. I could eat the fries all day but then I would miss all the other great items. Cocktails and food are inventive and delicious. The dining room is warm with good window coverage to the street. Totally charming and of high quality.

Oh what a great meal! I had the waffles and they were amazing. Coffee was great and they brought you a little silver pot of it to your table. The atmosphere was perfect! Really nice wait staff too. We can't wait to go back. Thinking we might have to stay there next time.
