Fresh, Inventive Mediterranean and Iberian Cuisine in the heart of the Sonoma Valley Wine Country. Seafood and Portuguese Cuisine are our specialties. We offer a unique variety of fresh local and imported seafood specials daily including whole fish. The seafood selections on our menu are complimented by a variety of meat dishes ranging from the popular Pork Tenderloin stuffed with almonds, olives and figs to the, hard to find, Tripe Porto Style. Many of these dishes come steaming hot out of the wood-burning oven and fill the dining room with the exotic aromas of true Mediterranean cuisine. The menu reflects the commitment of Chef and Owner Manuel Azevedo to creating the unique culinary delights of his native Portugal and its neighbors. LaSalette Restaurant is proudly one of Zagat Surveys top rated restaurants in Sonoma. See our web site for the complete menu and a look inside our dining room, which features an open kitchen and decor that sends you back in time to old Lisbon.

Old friends of ours have moved into a lovely little apartment near the center of Sonoma, so we paid them a Saturday visit and wanted a very nice place for dinner that we could walk to; we were told LaSalette would fit the bill quite well, and had made reservations a fortnight in advance --- strongly recommended! We have eaten here before, and always come back. It is small, with a nice location at the end of a shopping mall. The food is excellent, reasonably priced, and the service outstanding. It is actually an "elegant" restaurant.

While visiting Sonoma Plaza we had the pleasure of eating at La Salette restaurant. We tried the small tasting plates choosing 7 different selections along with a bowl of the caldo verde soup. Tried the pigs ear salad, tripe stew, one of the cheeses, white anchovies, pate of sardines, linguica sausage, and smoked fish. Everything was delicious as well as... More

We have been several times in Sonoma and decided to give a try to this restaurant. We are from Europe and know pretty well Portugal and their cuisine, so we were a bit skeptical about eating Portuguese in the middle of California. But this place proved to be a nice surprise. Not only their appetizers are inviting and tasty, but... More

We recently went to several Sonoma County wineries whose wine clubs we belong to, in order to pick up wines, taste new releases, and have a leisurely lunch. During prior visits we visited Bravas in Healdsburg for tapas at lunch, and we enjoyed this restaurant a great deal. During our most recent trip, due to timing issues, we opted to... More

My husband and I dined at La Salette our first night in Sonoma. We loved the location just off the square and a ten minute walk from our hotel. We shared a kale salad (very generous portion). My husband ordered the cod cakes small plate as his entree, which came with 3 slider-sized fish cakes with 2 sauces. He was... More

We stopped in here for lunch on our way over to Napa. We had a large breakfast but had heard great things about LaSalette so for sure still wanted to swing through. We sat on the patio and it was quite nice, sunny but with the umbrellas there was ample shade. We had a cheese and sausage board and my... More

We showed up around 5pm hoping to not need a reservation and were able to select our own table outside and sit immediately. The amuse-bouche was great, we got the tasting plate with serrano ham, linguica, and fried goat cheese. All were great, but nothing surprising. Entrees were fisherman's stew and the feijoada. Stew was amazing, great big pieces of... More

The food was tasty, nothing extra special.Nice setting, good service. The wine flight was just ok. If you are in Sonoma for more than 2 nights and you want to walk back and forth from the restaurant, this is a good selection.I liked it, I didn't love it.

Nice place with good food and wine. They have nice Portuguese wines on their list. Some good small plates to begin with, but they didn't have octopus or sweetbreads on the menu that night. We had escargot, smoked sturgeon and anchovies to begin. My wife had the bacalau, and I had the pork tenderloin, all very good. We finished sharing... More
