A perfect spot for lunch in Sonoma

The Girl and the Fig was recommended to us by a stranger we met in San Francisco. We were not disappointed. The restaurant terrace is charming and the service was friendly and professional. We stopped here for lunch on a day in Sonoma. We had the prix fixe menu, and wine flight. It was delicious, pleasant outdoor seating, and I will be back next time I'm in town.

I grew up in Sonoma and have been to Girl and the Fig several times (each time underwhelmed) and most recently in June with my fiancé. People rave about how good this place is and while I don't think it's awful it's so incredibly unexceptional. Everything we had was a bit too salty and nothing was special enough to warrant... More

After failing to book in time on the first night, we were able to get a booking for the second evening by calling in to the restaurant. We ate outside in the courtyard which was a good location especially on a hot evening. The duck pate and the chacuterie platter were both good starter choices, and the flounder was very... More

I'm glad we made a reservation. When we walked up to the restaurant, there were approx. 10 people standing outside + 1 dog (at least there was water). When we walked inside it was pretty packed. There was approx. 5 people in front of me trying to get a table and the host would say, it's approx. XXX amount of... More

We had a good meal here. I had the sardines and the flounder, both of which were very tasty. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere (we sat outside) was nice too. Would recommend.

First, make a reservation. It's a busy place. Second, food really can depend. I had pound of muscles and it was so salty, came with a half-burnt toast for dipping, and the actual meat part of the muscles were a size of penny. My husband's steak was so black and burnt on the outside, but a perfect MR on the... More

We called and said there were no tables available for the next 3 hours; advised to sit at the bar. What fun! We had a great, long discussion with an Irishman in the States for 5 weeks - AND the food. Oh, my. Superb combination plate with a blue cheese to die for, duck mousse that was excellent, grilled sardines... More

This was one of the best meals I have had in a restaurant! Absolutely everything we had from the wine to the cheese to the food was superb. Our server Samantha was fantastic - extremely knowledgeable about everything on the menu and very helpful in picking wines and cheeses that we would like. All of the food tasted as if... More

Splendid dinner on the patio while visiting Sonoma for a few days with friends. The grilled sardine app was amazing.
