This charming restaurant had a loyal following but closed it's doors this summer 2012. The location has been reopened as Rudy's Restaurant. Watch for a review and see if Rudy's stacks up to Cafe 522.

There are some places you walk into the first time and feel "at home"..That's Cafe 522 to us. We have become regulars since that very first visit and love everything about the place. The food is amazing..the staff...friendly and funny. Todd and Jay the owners have gone out of their way to make us feel very special. They saw us... More

I was in Sonoma with family a few weeks ago and stopped by this cafe for dinner. First of all - it is BEAUTIFUL inside. But unfortunately, that's the only positive that we saw. We had very poor service - our waitress was hardly around at all. When she was around, she wasn't friendly and the service wasn't up to... More

Yes, a shooting star! Very rare, tiny when compared to the universe, but how very exciting to experience. For the guests who are visiting the Historic Sonoma Plaza or locals, this charmingly decorated restaurant beckons one and all to come, enjoy and leave happily. The staff are extremely professional, courteous, knowledgeable and attentive. Food: menu small, but so are diamonds!... More

There were only about 15 items on the menu, but each thing we tried was excellent. Standouts were an exceptionally fresh tasting asparagus salad and a tart lemon tarte. The patio is pleasant, but could use more comfortable chairs, less rickety tables, and a bit more landscaping.

This is a new place with a small menu but it's wonderful. The service is amazing and the food is great. We sat on the patio out back and it had a beautiful atmosphere. I would recommend it for a quiet dinner while in Sonoma.

I took my mother-in-law to Cafe 522 for lunch. Parking in the area was a challenge, so extra time should be allotted to find parking. The decor is modern, with lots of light and eclectic chandeliers. Servers were very attentive and courteous. Unfortunately, we found the main course food to be lacking...on the bland side. However, the lemon curd dessert... More

I booked "Cafe 522 " for my wife's birthday dinner. We have never, ever, been treated like this anywhere..and I worked on "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous"!! When we walked in our table was covered with red rose petals and four red roses. We had hardly sat down when the champagne and mussels arrived...followed by a perfect meal..lovingly served.... More

After a week of dining in Napa and Sonoma, Cafe 522 was a breath of fresh air. Food as good as or better than anyone else even close to this price level; service as warm and attentive as you could ever want; an all-Sonoma wine list that's moderately priced but hugely interesting. The room is happy, and we were too.... More
