The Beehive Cake is the Bees Knees!!

Stumbled upon the Basque Boulangerie while visiting Sonoma from New Jersey. Had no idea it was famous. Long line like many others have referenced. There's good reason - The Beehive Cake is where it's at!! Danish sponge with what felt like 4" of thick vanilla custard cream topped with honey-almond... read more

We often walk into town in the early morning and stop at this bakery/restaurant for a morning treat. The pastries are much like stopping in to a French cafe in the morning. The lines can be long, but the wait is worth your time. Grab an outside table and watch the locals and the tourists as the town of Sonoma... More

We ate breakfast at Basque Boulangerie both of our mornings - we loved it that much. The pastries are amazing. We enjoyed breakfast sandwiches on croissants, as well as their crepes, plus quite a few pastries. Sitting outside, amongst the locals was pleasant and added to the trip. If you can't be in France, take in the Basque Boulangerie and... More

This place was very busy but would be good for on the go breakfast if you have a little time to wait. Pastries very good, was not overly impressed with the latte- actually threw mine out for one at another local breakfast place. However, worth a try for the bakery selection.

If you want coffee and pastry/bread to go, this is the place. Simple, cheap, delicious. Right in the square. So grab something and sit in the park.

I just wish this place was not so popular!! Hard to find a seat sometimes but well worth the wait. Our select from the display case to take home or to the park to enjoy great pastries.

Great capuccino, and the cookies were terrific. Closes at 6pm. They also donate leftover bread at the end of the day to local farms and retirement homes which is great.

This place is a great value for breakfast! Extensive bakery and adequate variety in the breakfast menu. Not a large seating area inside, but has outside seating too. Cute place!

My wife and I recently visited Sonoma and lucked into finding this cute little bakery just off the square in the downtown area. We figured we were in for a treat right off the bat, not only because of the wonderful smells of the bakery, but also because it is obviously the 'go to' spot for the locals for pastries... More

When the cheese factory did not have any sourdough bread left, the clerk suggested this bakery. We looked at the sourdough offerings and purchased a round loaf for $3. It was fresh, yes, but not sour at all. We were quite disappointed and did not eat very much of it.
