If you're in Solvang, you are going to buy cookies: you want them, your kids want them, your friends & family back home want them. Buy them here. They sell 'em by the bucket or the box (bought 2 buckets, 1 for the office, 1 for home; bought a box for the neighbors). If you're driving back to Santa Barbara... More

Always a good place to stop in for pastries and friendly service. You can eat them their or they will box them up so you can take them with you. They also serve food so you can eat in and take out.

Stopped here for breakfast and decided the Danishes were so awesome we had to also pick up a fresh loaf of sourdough bread for the road. I wish this place was in my hometown but then again I'd probably be 1,000 pounds if it was.

Loved the bakery and must admit I had more than one confection. Out if the five bakery's and various restaurants in town Mortensen was a close second to my favorite.

We heard a lot of this place, but when we got to try it I was a bit disappointed - pastries are quite ordinary, nothing that resembles the European stuff they claim to sell. Too much sugar and too little taste, basically.

There is a reason we go back to Mortensen's every time we visit Solvang -- their food is consistently first class and their service is as well. We love the boat pastries and always try something new as well. The coffee is great and the servers take the time to talk to you and offer helpful suggestions. There are a... More

Nice selection of pastries and cookies. They had one of our favorites - cinnamon crispies. Also saw cream puffs and eclairs.

We were looking for someplace to get some pastries and came across this little place off the main street. We got lucky and found this place and had some pastries for breakfast. There were so good that I bought extras to have when we got home in AZ. It's a shame that I haven't stopped in Solvang for all the... More
