The serving portions are huge. Bring your appetite! The coffee was a little weak, but the food more than made up for it.
Second time here and it's been 20 years since my last visit. Food is average, some items tasty, some not. Tried the buffet this time. It is a limited buffet and for $13 was just okay. Sweeeeeeedish meatballs were okay, nothing to write to the old country about. My Mrs. had a beef dip which was kinda pricey for the... More
Found this little hole in the wall restaurant while walking about Solvang. It is a very small restaurant that might set 40 people when full. They have a nice selection of food. Wait staff was very good and the food was very good. I would not say that any one thing about the restaurant stood out, so would only rate... More
While the food was edible and the restaurant clean I really wasn't impressed with the Red Viking. The buffet was meager at best, but our friends liked the weinerschintzle and the steak they ordered. Our waitress was attentive. The bill for dinner was $82 with one beer and three sodas. Probably won't return.
Restaurant is quaint with great service.....We enjoyed sandwiches & soup for lunch.....Chicken noodle soup was homemade & tasty.....Sandwiches were made on homemade bread & well stacked with meats, cheeses, lettuce & tomatoes......If you are looking for a restaurant does not have commercial standard food & has great service I would suggest this restaurant....
I don't even know where to begin. At least it was clean and cutesy and quaint in the way all of the center of Solvang is. I knew the food would be bland since I spent time in Sweden and Denmark so I was prepared for nothing exciting or very flavorful. Or so I thought. More on that later. The... More
We ate here for lunch and dinner, we enjoyed it so much. Inexpensive, but good food, nice open face sandwiches, and the buffet had a large choice of food. Service was friendly, seating was comfortable, atmosphere is very basic, but clean and pleasant.
The place is Very Friendly and tasty Food. They have a Buffet but I do not do Buffets ANYWHERE! Love their Lamb Shank and Baby Beef Liver as well as all other dishes are sooooooo Delicious!
The food was horrible, and it appeared that it was reserved after leftovers were refrigerated / frozen. The staff was not courteous and kept us waiting for long. We requested to speak to a manager, who did arrive (shabbily dressed), and was quite a dishonest person, and did not believe in customer service. We would not recommend this restaurant to... More
It was OK, formica topped tables, limited menu with many tourist options/burgers, sandwiches and some Danish meatballs and sausage dishes. The red cabbage was excellent but meatballs were burned/hard as a rock on the bottom. My husband had the liver and bacon and said it was excellent.
