Very good food and atmosphere!

Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and the food was delicious! Pricing was reasonable also. I would recommend you trying it!

Despite many decent reviews, I was really disappointed in our meal. My husband had a French Dip and he said it was just okay. I had the Smorgasbord and did not care for it at all. A lot of the salads seem to be swimming in mayo and looked like they had been setting out a while. There was some... More

Since we'll probably never return to Solvang, and my husband is 1/2 Danish, and we're always willing to try something new, we asked the docent @ the Danish museum where to eat Danish food and she recommended Bit of Denmark. My husband ordered the meatballs and I the sausage, both with red cabbage plus cucumbers and mashed potatoes/gravy. WE loved... More

My last visit to this restaurant was abt 50 yrs ago when I was a young teen wth my parents. Some things have changed and unfortunately some things hav not. The pros: Seated immediately. Friendly greeting. Buffet gets a B to B+. Others in our party ordered off the menu and rated their food the same. The cons: the carpet... More

Stopped in for lunch on a day when we were in a slight hurry. Service was fast and friendly, food was good, beer was cold and the price was fair.

Nothing special here, especially for the price. The smorgasbord items were not very tasty and were "on par" with some place like Golden Corral or similar "buffets". I would have given this place 2 1/2 stars, if I could. The place needs a serious face lift, as well. The best thing was the service.

We were in Solvang for a couple of days and I thought we should have some Danish food. I liked the outside of this restaurant, so we decided to try it. The items on the fixed menu were not too appealing, so we opted for the smorgasbord. Several of the cold items were OK and some were even associated with... More

Four of us stopped for dinner here and had a very nice time. They were happy to modify the items to accommodate the tastes of my friends. I had the special chicken Parmesan which was plentiful and full of flavor. Wine and beer were a little pricey but otherwise it was a very nice dinner.

The "Danish" pork roast (4 slices) was dry. The prunes that were supposed to be there weren't. The potatoes were cold. All this for $19. The only redeeming feature was the single (!) server, bless him, who ran his posterior off to do what he could to make the customers happy. But you can only serve what the kitchen gives... More

This is a must when in Solvang. It is authentic Scandinavian food and the menu is extensive. (Yes, you can get a cheeseburger, but why?) I had roasted duck and my wife had chicken Kiev. Both served with amazing vegetables and braised purple cabbage. Mine had boiled potatoes and the Kiev had garlic mashed potatoes. Both dishes were very well... More
