A disappointment

The "Danish" pork roast (4 slices) was dry. The prunes that were supposed to be there weren't. The potatoes were cold. All this for $19. The only redeeming feature was the single (!) server, bless him, who ran his posterior off to do what he could to make the customers happy. But you can only serve... read more

This is a must when in Solvang. It is authentic Scandinavian food and the menu is extensive. (Yes, you can get a cheeseburger, but why?) I had roasted duck and my wife had chicken Kiev. Both served with amazing vegetables and braised purple cabbage. Mine had boiled potatoes and the Kiev had garlic mashed potatoes. Both dishes were very well... More

Fun? At a restaurant? Yes. That's because after dinner, there was a live band playing in the other room and it had a small but useable dance floor. My wife and I visited Solvang in the off season so it wasn't that crowded. The concierge at our hotel recommended Bit O' Denmark if we wanted to dance. We arrived at... More

Their specialty is Danish food, so stay away from the hamburgers and other American food. It's not their best. Everything else is very good, though. Can get very crowded between noon and 2:00.

For my 2nd visit to Solvang with my granddaughter on her 1st visit, we want an authentic Danish meal selection in a nice setting. This Bit O'Denmark offered all that, and I would recommend it. We got a window booth, and we opted for the Danish buffet although ordering off the menu was also an option and offered lots of... More

We stopped in here and saw the cool little bar. So we stayed and had the BEST 'made from scratch' Bloody Mary's. The bartender was awesome. There was a nice looking salad bar in there too. It was very busy and the food looked pretty tasty.

Great selection of salads and hot entrees. Good value. Meatballs are delicious (Frickadeller). Very authentic.

We went to try traditional Danish and enjoyed. Had the meatball and sausage combination, some wine and traditional Danish desert. We enjoyed it. Not the most amazing food, but a fun time if you want to try Danish. Service was good too.

We were in Solvang for Danish Days and went to the restaurant for dinner. Both of us ordered Monte Cristo sandiches. The sandwiches were good but a bit skimpy on the meat. They were very cheesey and overall tasted good. The service was excellent, prices reasonable. Adjoining tables had Danish dishes and they looked very good with ample servings. The... More

We came back this year for Danish Days and stopped at the Bit o' Denmark for dinner (having eaten here on previos visits). Now, during the festival there usually is a wait to be seated, we knew this and was told it would be about 10 to 15 minutes. That was no problem, I told the greeter we would be... More
