We arrived at this restaurant late in the day, around 6 pm. Solvang rolls up the sidewalks early, so it wasn't busy at all. The food was good and the service even better. There are many eating places to choose from. We try something different everytime we're in Solvang. So far, we haven't been disappointed.

There must be better danish cooking than this. If I came back to Solvang, I would avoid this place. Wife and I tried the Danish buffet ($19.95 each). Salad bar was minimal ; not as many choices as a Soup Plantation restaurant. Food in hot trays was not too appealing with few choices but meatballs were OK. Best part of... More

Terrible food, lousy service and not very Danish. The staff seems to be exclusively Latino judging from the voices in the kitchen which were audible at the entry. First the Gravlax which should be thinly sliced salmon which has been cured in salt, sugar and lots of dill. I was served absolutely raw salmon, thickly chunked and sprinkled with a... More

When other restaurants were closed, we stopped here for dinner. It has fancy restaurant prices, but is not a fancy restaurant. Their specialty sandwich, a Monte Cristo, was $13.95, while dinner entres were in the 20's. However, it did look like a good place for a drink at the bar.

We stopped there for a quick lunch on a Tuesday. Service was good and it never took more than 2-3 min to receive drinks, meals, or check after requesting it. The place itself is quite old school and calls for a refurbishment. Food was only average and you should be aware that it's not fresh cooked but rather heated. Even... More

Authentic danish food is available, and it's quite good! The prices are fair, and the wine pour's are heavy :) nice combo! Our service was excellent - and it's a sweet quaint atmosphere - I would go again for sure! Being third generation danish american's who grew up on this food, we are a bit of a critical bunch -... We walked out around 3:20 pm today after being ignored for 10 minutes. The host, who seemed to be our waiter, acted upset with us because we requested to be seated in an area other than where a screaming child was throwing a fit. Too bad because the building had interesting history and the menu looked great.

We went to Bit O'Denmark on New Year's Eve. Everything about it was lovely! The service was wonderful, the food was great! We tried the frikadeller (meatballs) and Danish sausage... Who knew we would love the red cabbage? I unfortunately forgot my blood test kit and PDA for my insulin pump in the seat. For me that's a huge deal!... More

This place was so good. We tried their meatball called frikadeller. Our came with mashed potatoes, homemade pickles, and red cabbage. The gravy was delicious. We practically licked our plates clean.
