Went here twice while in Solvang. The first time it was for dinner. Even thought it was not crowded (only a few couples there), the service was very slow. We could hear the staff talking in another room but not waiting on the clients! The second time it was just for desert. Different waitstaff but same result. Food was good... More

The atmosphere was pleasant and quiet which is just what we were looking for after a long day of wine tasting and shopping. We stuck with American menu choices so I can't speak to the Scandinavian dishes but the food we ordered was great and I would definitely go back!

The worst food we had in two weeks of vacation. If you must eat here, stay away from the meats altogether and stick with the seafood. Cured herring 3 ways was actually quite unique and delicious as was the draft, Danish style beer. The service was good but I'm glad I turned down the offer of the all you can... More

Looking for a break from the ordinary food? This quant restaurant nestled in the heart of Solvang / Santa Barbara offers Swedish style food. We recommend the Pickled Herring appetizer (3 different flavor) & also the cheese appetizer. Also, we like the Swedish meatball called Frikadellier & the sausage called Medisterpolse. The food is great but the portion is very... More

After having stuffed myself at one of the well-reviewed newer places in town the night before I went to eat here because in passing by I saw schnitzel on the menu. The place was calm, even with families, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, the meal was priced write. The schnitzel was good, with red cabbage and twice cooked potatoes... More

We enjoyed the buffet but noticed soon after and the day after we had a problem with gas. lol Odd but true. Maybe it was the red cabbage. Food was decent, service excellent, cute atmosphere -but be ware of gas :)

After sampling goodies from the bakeries all afternoon, we were hungry but didn't really know what we wanted. We had tried the open face sandwiches for lunch at another place, so decided a smorgasbord would be a good choice. We saw they had cold meats and cheese as well as meatballs which is what we wanted, so we chose the... More

My husband and I chose this place as we were walking around in Solvang. The atmosphere is nice, the service is okay but the food was hit and miss -- mostly miss. My husband ate from the buffet and most of the dishes were either bland or sweet, which was really disappointing. I ordered 3 appetizers and the first one,... More

Having read reviews of this restaurant that ranged from a cruel 1 to a generous 5, I really did not know what to expect. Having no Scandinavian background, I had no basis for a culturally based critique of the offerings either, so my comments are based purely on the quality of the food and service as I perceived it. Great!... More

Six of us have enjoyed the charming atmosphere and exceptionly good service. From Danish specialties to seafood pasta dishes and a tasty Wienerschnitzel along with a good selection of beer and wine, we savored it all.
