We went here after visiting the mission. The choices were incredible! I thought the prices were high--comparable with Europe. The kids chose cream puffs. They had strawberry jam, lemon custard and cream in them.,..not sure how accurate it is since that's from the kids. One loved it, the other thought they were okay. I got "Swedish Delight" and it was... More

We have been to Olsen's a few times. In fact, we make a special trip to Solvang just to visit Olsen's every time we are in Santa Barbara. Their coconut macaroons are the best in the world. The almond horns and kringles are to die for. And the bear claws are pretty awesome too.

The son of a baker, Bent Olsen moved to Solvang from Aeroskobing, Denmark, 40 years ago, and keeps the Danish baking tradition alive in the Danish viilage. This is the real thing, scrumptious delights baked early each day from fresh ingredients.

This is a darling little bakery with delicious danish pastries that are a little pricey like all of Solvangs bakeries. But if you can take home a whole kringle which is a yummy oval pastry filled with almond paste. It won't last long probably because it is so so tastey.

This cute bakery is located right across the street from Hamlet Inn, where I was staying. Make a selection of Danish pastries (not as easy as you might think!) and enjoy it with a cup of coffee (loved their coffee) inside or out. It's just a very nice place to sit back, watch the world go by, and contemplate the... More

We tried all the bakeries and liked this one the best. While visiting their bakery, they told us they were the only Danish owned bakery in Solvang. We especially loved the eclairs, chocolate meringue cookies, and apple strudel. We ordered an apple strudel for next day pick up and Lynn was very helpful and had it packaged and ready to... More

We bought bread and cookies here which were good. He's 3rd generation Dane and the pastries seem to keep the heritage. Fun Danish experience. Counter help could be friendlier. Maybe too many selections keeps them waiting to serve you.

If you don't mind being treated like crap, then this is the place for you. The waitresses are rude. Definely customer service is not at the top of the list. We ordered a variety of pastries and some were really good while others missed the mark. I will not return given the treatment we received. The place is a little... More
