I usually go there for lunch as they have a good selction...fish taco, clam chowder w/caesar salad, fish & chips etc. all at very reasonable price. Cozy, casual atmopshere...nothing fancy but food is good.

Ate here Sunday pm and good food reasonable price relaxed atmosphere with attentive service. Located about 3 blocks from the beach park in a business plaza. I had walnut salad with tuna which was not combination on menu but "no problem" and it was delicious. The cole slaw has a little spicy bite to it very good.

Sometimes the best local restaurants are in strip malls...but not in this case. A broad menu and lots of daily specials are inviting but the execution of the menu items is average at best. For example, the fish tacos, a staple of Southern California, had interesting spices but the grilled fish was dry. And if the oysters had not been... More

We were looking for a good seafood place and drove around and came across this place. I wish we had kept on driving. Food was terrible, service was terrible, dining room was hot and not very clean. The server took 15 minutes to bring our drinks, then only came back one time with our food. We ordered soup, appetizer and... More

While vacationing in the Solana Beach area, we were looking for a decent, fast & moderately priced place to eat supper. The Fish House had some pretty good reviews and was in walking distance (which, technically speaking, everyplace is in So Cal if you have enough time) of where we're staying. We split the paella and each had a fish... More

Fish looked like it was cooked in old grease. Very very dark. For the price 8 fried oysters, slaw and 10 French fries. Ten for goodness sake. It's a cheap fry throw a few more on the plate

I found SBFH online and a colleague and I decided to give it a try. He had a sampler and I had the cod fish and chips. We both walked away full and with nothing but good things to say. I would certainly return. It is located in a strip center and isn't much to look at from the street... More

The menu looks ambitious, and the ambience isn't bad, but everything was a little off. Weird herbs and spices--sort of a tarragon and paprika-ish pink "New England" clam chowder; not so fresh tasting fish tacos with too much pepper, and an unidentifiable musty-tasting spice in the red cabbage cole slaw. My half sandwich that came with the soup was miniscule--the... More

Best clam chowder hands down. Excellent Cioppino. Suggest sitting away from the bar if you want to have a conversation with your table mates.
