We have been dining at the Samurai for over 20 years and after visiting again this week, I was impressed - again- at the consistency. The same people still work there. The visuals and design are as they have always been (and work) and even though it has gone to another generation in the family (though I'm sure dad is... More

A group of us booked a table here having not met up for a long time. The ambiance was good and the Teppanyaki was a great choice, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. Soup & salad were good appetisers and there was such a wide choice of main dishes, rice and vegetables that all of the party were well catered for.... More

What a wonderful restaurant to have a peaceful teppan-styled dining experience. The location is in north San Diego County in Solana Beach California. The parking is open and free, the ambience of the restaurant is very pleasing to the eyes, the service is supurb and the teppan chef was great. The food is prepared before you on a grill and... More

We love sushi, my husband and I. Though we've been frequenting Samurai for over 30 years, we regularly check out other sushi houses and continue to return. We first went to the 101 location before it burned down and got hooked on Samurai then. With their reopening off on Lomas Santa Fe, we were happy to see the original staff... More

We have been going to Samurai for years and not once have we been disappointed! the atmosphere is traditional Japanese! Nice ambiance, you could even say its a bit romantic! They serve you hot towels, crab or cucumber salad and edemame to start, a nice touch! Our favorites, Sunomo salad, the best we have ever had! Catepillar roll, spicy tomato,... More

I have been coming to this restaraunt for many years, never been disappointed. The food is always great, reasonable prices for what you get. Very consistent great food and service.

I have eaten at numerous sushi restaurants in San Diego and Samurai still provides the freshiest fish, especially the UNI.

Ate here with my wife and another couple this week. This was our first time and we prefer the sushi bar when we dine at Japanese restaurants. We sat at a table due to our friends handicap. The decor was very nice and the service excellent. The sushi was very good as was the seaweed salad. The entrees were also... More

nice restaurant, good sushi but a bit over priced. Drive about a mile toward the coast to Station Sushi for a better and cheaper sushi. At Samurai, you are paying for the atmosphere.

There are many aspects to this restaurant and not all of them are great. If you had a bad experience here, it's probably because you didn't sit at the sushi bar. I know, I know, why 5 stars if it ain't near perfect . . . I'm getting to that. Samurai is a full service restaurant with a cocktail bar,... More
