Beach Grass is great. A huge menu of breakfasts and we couldn't find one we didn't like. Favorites include the French Toast, all of the scrambles, all of the pancakes, just regular eggs and bacon, and great coffees, especially mochas. Try it. (Lunch is great, too!)

All the food here is really good.....but the pineapple upside down pancakes and the bacon cheddar pancakes are amazing. The Pineapple gets kind of carmelized and doesn't need syrup. Believe it or not they aren't overly sweet. Just delicious. Another favorite is the spinach, mushroom, feta scramble. For lunch, their fish tacos are super good.

We stopped here looking for a good place for breakfast and we found it. I had the pineapple upside down pancakes, with a side of bacon and a great cup of coffee. My husband had the turkey hash with home fries and really enjoyed it. We highly recommend this place.

We come to Solana Beach every year for the winter and one of the first stops we make is at the Beach Grass Cafe. Everything we have had there has been good but the pineapple upside down pancakes are out of this world. The service is friendly an efficient and the restaurant is clean and well maintained.

We visited beach grass café on our first morning in Solana beach and had a lovely first holiday breakfast! 4 out of 5 of us had pancakes, all trying something different from the menu and they were all gorgeous!

Visiting on a fall Friday for lunch, I did not find an overly crowded place - though given the high ceilings and metal, I can see how this place becomes very noisy very quickly. Service was just acceptable; they didn't notice I was ready to order for a couple minutes, even though I looked and waved my hand. The wait... More

My last vacation I returned to the Beach Grass Cafe when staying in Del Mar. I was not disappointed. Food was still tasty and fresh as was the coffee. This time I had the turkey chorizo omelet. I do agree with some other reviewers that the place can use a bit of a tidy up. However, its a busy place... More

Very popular with the 19-35 year-old crowd who don't seem to mind eating breakfast inside what sounds like a huge tin drum with flatware banking against it. Fodd is good, service terrible. The Poway location is sedate by comparison and the service there much more with it.

Think of a sophisticated version of a 70s style, earthy, good-for-you, hippie spot, but with modern upgrades in taste and style. Plus booze! We thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday brunch. I had their veggie burger which was genuinely delicious!

First time we went, it was awesome. I had the pork breakfast tacos , and husband had an omelette, mimosa and blueberry ricotta pancake. He also ordered a cappucino and raved about it. The first the service was good , and the coffe was hot and not even bitter! We were in a great mood, as this was our first... More
