My wife and I read the reviews, and were excited about this place, as we are Mexican food lovers. I cannot adequately express our disappointment. I read reviews about places, and wonder how so many can be happy with a place, and then one pops up rating it so poorly, but now I think I know; different tastes, hopefully. We... More

Excellent spot for a quick taco. Located in small shopping mall not far from the Del Mar Racetrack & Fairgrounds. The Street Tacos (Carnitas & Carne Asada) were very tasty and a great deal at $1.45 each. Big breakfast burritos . Eat at inside or outside tables. Service is fast and friendly.

Rudy's is a wonderful taco shop tucked away in a little strip center that is part taco shop and part grocery store. The owner Rudy is a local garduate of the middle school across the street and has lived in the area for many years. It is a pleasure to get a carne asada burrito ( which is HUGE) and... More

I love, Rudy's Taco Shop. I have been buying my grandson an afternoon snack of a bean burrito for several years. The past three times the burrito is so small with very little beans! What gives? Is it because Rudy's has a new owner and he is cutting corners?

This is a tremendous place for tacos & anything Mexican food. Inexpensive, tasty, some of the best tacos ever. Try the carne asada. Try anything - - it's all fantastic. Had a nice conversation with one of the owners. They take huge pride in making Mexican food 'right' and that means superb food for us. Good craft beer selection, too.... More

This is not a "sit down" restaurant. It's in a strip mall and one may not notice it at first glance! But the breakfast burritos are the best! I often call ahead, order and pick up my food. ¡Muy delicioso!

We went to this place, based on the number 1 ranking and the picture of the restaurant. I've submitted the real picture of their front door to show what to expect. They do have a small deck on which there are a few tables and inside there are 3 small tables but this is, as their sign says, a take... More

I would have never tried this place with Tripadvisor, and I was still a little nervous when I entered one evening. This place isn't upscale Solana Beach. It reminds me of my childhood in rural Appalachia, with a set of shelves with food products (though Bimbo breads never made it to Appalachia in the 1980s) plus a small food counter.... More

Having lived in colonial Mexico for 10 + years, I can highly recommend this great little place. I had the large tacos with all - one Carnitas and one Carne Asada. Both salsas were outstanding. Provecho.

Had the carne asada tacos - loved them - yummy and fresh. Friendly people, nice little place with a small grocery section as well.
