Located across from the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Race Track, our third restaurant has been a San Diego North County favorite since it opened in 1981. This bustling restaurant encourages friendly and convivial dining, with the help of a comfortable oyster bar and cozy cocktail bar and lounge, and front-and-center retail market, widely known by those seeking to take home the finest in fresh fish. We also offer a private room suitable for a large party gathering.

Good food - casual atmosphere

We were staying at the Hilton Del Mar and this was an easy walk and since we visited three times in two days I would say we enjoyed it. Twice for happy hour snacks great fish tacos and once for dinner all very good - casual atmosphere.

We have been eating at this place for few years when we come to town Sunday noon the place is in disarray stations had to be shut down. The young man at the front desk was fantastic. He was keeping is cool. when we sat at the bar he is the one who cleaned it from the previous patrons and... More

The seafood is very fresh. The portions are generous. We love their clam chowder, probably the best one we ever had, and we had plenty of clam chowders up and down both East and West Coast.

I was here on a past trip to San Diego but on this last one we had tried on several occasions to go with a large group. If you need to go with more than 4 people I suggest you call a few days in advance to see if they can get you in otherwise you'd be wasting a drive... More

Really good seafood dishes!! My wife and I decided to try this place based on a friends recommendation and we were not disappointed. All the food was very fresh and tasty. I really enjoyed the oysters. The service was okay; at times our server was hard to find. I'd recommend eating early because parking near the restaurant can be tough.... More

We are locals and this is one of our favorite places. We started going to the Happy Hour because I love their pork sliders. They are the perfect proportion. I like them spicy and the spice varies depending on the chef. The fish is always excellent, no matter what you order. You can also order off the full menu. The... More

Easy walk from Winners Circle. The food is great and they also have a super happy hour. The food is exceptional as well as staff. I enjoy the oysters raw and fried with panko. Also fabulous Bloody Marys with shrimp and celery as garnish.

The Fish Market has excellent seafood. It's fun to sit at the bar and order food. The restaurant itself is very noisy and has a cold feeling with its tile flooring. I also feel like its a bit caferteria-ish because you choose two side dishes with your meal, and they are served on your plate like 2 scoops from an... More

San Diego in general and the North County[ Del Mar Encinitas, Solana Beach, Carlsbad] in particular have many terrific seafood restaurants, but the Fish Market stands out for several reasons. One, it has been around a long time and always has the highest quality seafood available. If you don't think you enjoy seafood , you really ought to try this... More
