Located across from the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Race Track, our third restaurant has been a San Diego North County favorite since it opened in 1981. This bustling restaurant encourages friendly and convivial dining, with the help of a comfortable oyster bar and cozy cocktail bar and lounge, and front-and-center retail market, widely known by those seeking to take home the finest in fresh fish. We also offer a private room suitable for a large party gathering.

Oh, the cioppino!!!

This is a really beautiful restaurant...kind of kitschy, but not overdone. Very clean space, including the bathroom. Frankly, the service could have been better -- plates for the oysters were provided after we asked for them. Fish fork and seafood cracker came late, too. But, the waiter was... read more

I've eaten at the Fish Market in downtown San Diego several times and had a wonderful experience. Since that location is temporarily closed due to fire, on our recent family vacation to San Diego we decided to go to their Solana Beach location to eat one evening. We had reservations and were seated quickly. Our food was good, and was... More

The fish is extremely fresh. If you are local, buy the fresh catch each day at their counter. Absolutely delicious! The sushi is awesome too! Of course they have the usual fried seafood, etc. The food is nothing really extravagant . Pretty straight forward menu items. I gave 4 stars because service is usually hit n miss depending on your... More

Had dinner here while on vacation. If fish is not in your diet then stay away as there is really no other choices here. Service and food were fine, but had no WOW factor. Prices reflected that of a more fancier restaurant.

We love this restaurant! It has the best clam chowder. You can take some home if you'd like. It also has a fish market to buy local fresh fish. We visited on 2 separate occasions, both times with 2 young children. They have a nice children's menu along with an extensive menu of different fish. Everything is well prepared.

They have great mahi mahi sliders and their happy hour deals are amazing. Their appetizers are so good that I normally don't even order anything else off the menu.

Everything were ordered was terrible except the bread and the water. We ordered 3 of the lunch specials and a grilled salmon. I couldn't swallow the fish it was super dry. One dish, the pasta was acceptable everything else was inedible. The one saving grace was our server who unfortunately brought terrible food to the table.

A conveniently located restaurant with lots of space and comfortable seating. Freshly baked bread comes to the table promptly and the many fish dishes are complemented by creative and healthy sides like steamed broccoli with ginger or sauteed green beans and mushrooms. Right next door to Winners Circle Resort.

This restaurant is a neighborhood gem and the seafood is amazing. They will prepare your fish or seafood several different ways upon ordering. Get there early though because this place gets BUSY!!!

We've been going here for 6 years and are alays amazed at the quality and freshness of the seafood. You walk by the fish market on the way in. They have daily "fresh" specials year around. Our favorite are the Spanko Scallops with scallopd potatoes (what else) sitting at the cafe tables in the bar area. No waiting for those... More
