Description: Located across from the Del Mar Fairgrounds and Race Track, our third restaurant has been a San Diego North County favorite since it opened in 1981. This bustling restaurant encourages friendly and convivial dining, with the help of a comfortable oyster bar and cozy cocktail bar and lounge, and front-and-center retail market, widely known by those seeking to take home the finest in fresh fish. We also offer a private room suitable for a large party gathering.

I was with a large group and not only was the service was very good but the food was also good and hot when served, which is hard to pull of with a group that big. The only draw back was the carpet seemed sticky. Other than that I'd recommend dining here.

Our server tonight was Christina and dinner and service was fabulous! We had a reservation for five people at 6:30, but arrived at 6:00. No problem, we were seated right away. Service was wonderful but not overdone. Dinner was delicious, no complaints from any of us. I had the grilled shrimp skewers, so yummy. Well, so was everybody else's too.... More

We heard good things about this place and decided to give it a try. It is hard to find good seafood even on the pacific coast! The menu is updated with fresh fish selections twice a day! The restaurant is trendy and buzzing, but did not have to wait because it is so big! The potatoes were yummy. Our waiter... More

We were staying at a hotel in Solana Beach, and saw this place driving by. We walked in around 5:30 PM on a Sunday night and didn't have any wait for a table. The restaurant has a great selection of seafood and steak. We were very happy with our choices and the restaurant is also family friendly as well.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. It has a lot of character and the fish is always fresh. When you are seated, they serve tasty french bread with butter. I usually order the cooked oysters or "liteeaters" plate with Rockfish on a skewer and roasted vegetables. They have all sorts of very fresh fish, many delicious side dishes and... More

I will never get tired of The Fish Market. I have never had anything other than incredible food at this restaurant. I can't resist the Teriyaki Swordfish Kabobs. The sour dough bread is fresh and tart, just the way I like it. It also has excellent Key Lime Pie. It truly is one of my favorite places to eat -... More

We were in solana beach for a short vacation. Found this and were very happy. We had salad, prawns and the sword fish. Everything was fresh and tasty. Kids menu had also good choices. Why not 5 stars? Service was friendly but forgot a couple of things and needed to come back 2 times to make sure we had the... More

Very good choice for a late lunch. Food was good and so was the service. Del Mar Race Track was in session but we avoided the after-race crowd & traffic.

Just OK, not great. Seafood fresh but expensive. I get better seafood for a cheaper price point in the desert --- odd, isn't it. Will not go back.
