Tasty, Authentic

The food was authentically Mexican and very tasty, although they didn't have the lengua or cabeza that I prefer (and which most American's won't try). The menu did offer a lamb dish, which I hope to sample the next time I'm there. I enjoyed exercising my Spanish with the staff. My one... read more

Apparently the two of us are in the minority here. We were not at all impressed with the food. It seemed like the kind of Mexican food one might find in the middle of the USA, rather than in California. Generally bland food, had to ask for hot sauce to give some sense of flavor. We passed through town from... More

Delicious authentic Mexican food ... after our chips, salsa and guacamole, I had the "El Grande" Combination plate - Beef Taco, Beef Enchilada and a chicken tamale ... with rice and beans. Do I need to say, "more than enough food!" Being of Hispanic origin, I grade a Mexican food restaurant by it's rice, beans and tacos - all were... More

Our family of 8, my mother, my sister and her family and my family, were at the Sierraville Hot Springs (that's a whole other review, ha), and after we built up quite an appetite soaking, we were guided to Los Dos Hermanos. What a great recommendation! The margaritas were yummy, the chili verde tostada was grand, my husband loved the... More

Sierraville is a small town in a big beautiful valley surrounded by mountains and pines about 25-30 miles north of Truckee, CA up Highway 89. Los Dos Hermanos is a decent size restaurant with a tiny full bar. They make a great Margarita. I'm camp hosting in Jackson Meadows and other hosts and locals were saying its the best Mexican... We eat here when in town (except when it is closed on Mondays) and have never had a bad meal or unpleasant experience. The food is delicious and the atmosphere pleasing. The wait staff are friendly and professional and the food is served quickly. No shortcuts though, the food is well prepared and of high quality. Great salsa, too!

We stopped for lunch on our way home from camping. What a great find. This is a local establishment with plenty of warmth, charm and a nice selection of tasty fare. It first appears to be a Mexican restaurant with traditional offerings, but also available are sandwiches and burgers. Lunch and dinner are served from 11:00 a.m. to closing. The... More

Great Mexican food in a small town. My sister had eaten here and wanted me to try it so we drove from Nevada City to Sierraville. What a great find!! The food was fantastic! I enjoyed my pork taco and chili relleno. The chili relleno was made with a fresh chili and cooked just right. The guacamole was great! I... More

This is one of the best Mexican food joints on the planet. The food is amazing and the drinks are strong, made from their tiny bar next to the kitchen. I recommend this place if you have a couple hours to kill off I-80. I have been here several times and it is great every time!
