To start, the new Owners Jeff and Joan Smith have put their hearts, and a pile of effort, into this Summer's food and staff...The results are spectacular! My Family and I ate several delicious meals during our recent annual vacation at Packer Lake Lodge. The Dinner menu covers a broad range of appetites and prices. Our favorites were the Lamb... More

This is a great, old- fashion fishing lodge. The vintage 1921 log cabin makes a great little restaurant. The atmosphere is casual but the dining is fine. We ordered the salmon, which was superb, and the ribs, which were pretty good. The Caesar salad is amazing, and the mudpie was really delicious. Yum.

I have eaten at this facility several times in the past with the former owners. In the past the price was about double what you would pay in the city and the portions were quite austere but you could almost get enough to satisfy your appetite in a hiking and camping area. The new owner assumes he can fill in... More

Spagetti nite and Bingo on Wednesdays. Often sold out so call ahead, or make areservation and spend the week. On Paker Lake, fish and hike. This at the base of the Sierra Buttes. Fun and a little quirky.

The fresh fish here is excellent, they even cook your catch! Salads and BBQ ribs also great. Wine list very good for such a small operation.

This is a charming and rustic restaurant set on a beautiful lake a couple of miles off of Lakes Basin Road. We got the impression that most diners were lodge guests staying in the various cabins on the property, but we didn't have any problem getting a table early in the evening. You can enjoy a cocktail or glass of... More

We ate breakfast at Packer Lake Lodge twice on our recent trip to the Lakes Basin area. Incredibly reasonable prices, friendly small-town service, and wonderful food. The place is quintessential (SP?) camp style and looks like it belongs in the Adirondacks rather than the Sierras! We eat here every time we are in the area and can't wait to get... More

We stumbled across this quaint lodge by accident several years ago hiking around the Lake Basin area of Sierra County. We have enjoyed several dinners there over the years and have not had a bad meal yet. Our latest meal was in July of 2007 and we could not have had a better meal with exceptional service. The lodge was... More

We ate dinner here last August and it was terrible. I ordered a steak, which was half inedible gristle. My husband ordered the lamb and hated the sauce. The dinners weren't cheap- over $20.
