I've been to the upper and lower cabins. I enjoy them both and it is very friendly. We went down to the river after our last stay and did a little gold panning. We did find a few flakes.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Herrington's Sierra Pines Resort Restaurant. My husband had the salmon cakes special and I had the Filet of Sole Amandine. Fortunately, we both chose to have baked potatoes, which were unusually good. The salad itself wasn't anything special, but I liked the sun-dried tomato vinaigrette. We had noticed the blackberry bushes growing down near... More

We parked by the trout pond next to the restaurant and saw some fish that looked to be close to two feet in length. Once inside, we were seated near the front window from which there was a lovely pastoral view. We ordered a couple of cocktails from the full bar. For dinner, I ordered the Rib Eye steak which... We ordered it 2 nights in a row! This place is what you expect for a Sierra County restaurant. Knotty pine and great filling food.

My husband and I spent a wonderful quiet week in June in the Lakes Basin area, staying at a house on the Yuba River in Sierra City. We cooked in most of the nights, but for our night "out" we went to one of our local favorites, Herrington's. I ordered the pork chops which were tasty but the baked potatoe... More

Early cold weather set in; Many restaurants closed in the area. Was expecting just an average meal. Was delighted with the excellent fare chef Steven cooked for us. Warm lodge atmosphere added to the experience. Will deffinately return when back in the area.

Sierra Buttes for a view from the restaurant. Have trout pond and can pick your fish for dinner. Good prices and delicious food. Great little bar. Also has cabins.

Spinach Salad the best I've ever had. Try the Mulligatawny Soup if available. Not too heavy on the curry, slight overtones of apple and coconut, and rich. A cupful was perfect. They have their own trout pond on the property and my trout was the freshest of fresh. Serving sizes are large so the second night we split an entree.... More

Good service, EXCELLENT supper. I had steak, spouse had halibut. Both were excellent. Took dessert to-go back to our room.
