We’ve been to a two wonderful Basque restaurants in northern Nevada this past year and thought we’d try Alphy’s as they are located in an old favorite (now gone Old Vienna) restaurant. One) the décor has not changed at all…it’s still the old tacky Old Vienna décor all the way…they could have updated a few things? 2) our service was... More

We went shortly after it opened. Disappointing at every turn. First, the food was mediocre. I'm from Bakersfield so I know Basque food. The portions were small, the waiter spilled soup all over my daughter and they never came to check on us. The worst of all - we were sitting on dirty patio furniture looking at a poor attempt... Last night we went to Alphy's Basque in Pismo Beach and found a Treasure! We were lucky to find we made it in time for the Early Bird Special and Wow! The price was right and the food devine! We dined on first their great vegetable soup, the main dish was Top Serloin done to perfection, and to top it... More

I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! Service is outstanding and the food is off-the-hook good. Every Friday in October is Octoberfest. They serve excellent German dishes and have 8 German biers on tap. The staff goes German for the event as well with full blown German attire. We ordered from the Basque menu and it did not... More

My wife and I visited this restaurant after I dined there a few weeks ago with some friends. I was so impressed that when she was in the area I said we had to try it. She was not disappointed. There was more food than either of us could eat, and although it may not accurately reflect "real basque cuisine"... More

My husband is from the Basque country which has a very strong tradition of excellent food typical to the region. When we drove past this restaurant we knew we had to try it. On the positive side the food was actually pretty good although it was clear from the menu and from speaking to several of the very pleasant members... More

My husband and I visited Alphys recently and were very pleased with the restaurant. Our waiter was extremely kind and attentive throughout the night. We explained that we were not sure we each needed a full entree along with the bottomless sides that were included. He suggested splitting one entree but ordering an extra set of the sides. It worked... More

...even though Alphy is not even Alphy. But we digress. The Basque Chateau is super-yummy, way family friendly, and we've dragged most of our friends there already. The soup is to great, the salsa to put in the soup....well, I had some soup with my salsa! The food is good, and again, the atmosphere convivial and conducive to hanging out... More

My husband and I stopped in Shell Beach on the way home from Avila and decided to give Alphys a try. We were so glad we stopped!!! Even though we were dressed casually, we were treated just as well as everyone else in the restaurant. The food was excellent....I went for only the top part of the menu, while my... More
