Description: We are a husband & wife chef team so we have 2 kinds of food: rustic Northern Italian (meaning we make all our own salami, pasta, gelato) and playful Americana (meaning we take American classics and update them with a twist). we grow up to 30% of our own produce and have our own chickens for the eggs for our pasta. otherwise, we support local, sustainable and diverse agriculture and economy in our purchasing choices. We make our own bacon and salami from heritage pork that is antibiotic and hormone free and free range. You can order our bacon from our website www.zazurestaurant.com. Come stroll through our chef's garden! We have PIZZA & PINOT nights Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. For breakfast or lunch any day, try our sister restaurant, BOVOLO, up in Healdsburg, on the square inside Copperfield's books.

My family and l had never been to Zazu when it was on Sebastopol Road locale. To be honest, it was very very good tasting but what we ordered after our delicious "donut" I felt everything else we ordered didnt follow suit in taste. but also the service was very slow. I just would advise to go when its busier... More

My overall rating is gentler than the words, because I like the concept (farm to table) and I like the owners - they're very involved with the community. I'd been to the old location several times, and even though the Barlow is much farther away, I wanted to try it. My first comment is it's hard to find. The Barlow... More

Zazu Kitchen and Farm sources local ingredients with a strong emphasis on pork and pig products. However, there is plenty for the non-pork-eater to enjoy. Craft cocktails are fun and delicious, and use local, fresh ingredients so these change regularly. I had the chilled cucumber and almond soup and it was deliciously refreshing on a warm day. I also had... More

Late this afternoon my daughter and I found ourselves in Sebastopol, on our way home. On a whim I decided we should investigate the rather new Barlow area. We ended up at the Thursday Market and made our way to Zazu for an early supper. That was a really good idea! Bacon is a basic food group at our house... More

Ate here on a recent trip to Santa Rosa just up the road. Easy to spot the new location because of the giant pink tin pigs head hanging outside. In spite of this, however, there was no actual pork on the menu just the salumi and bacon which kind of threw us to start with. Ended up with the three... More

I always enjoyed all my visits to Zazu at the old location. I like the new atmosphere but I really didn't enjoy the food as much as I used too. We started with sharing a plate of Padrones Peppers. They were OK and not bad but I have had this dish at many other restaurants for much less than the... More

Joined dear friends for a late Saturday afternoon lunch in the new location at The Barlow. We all started with the bacon wrapped dates. Quite tasty, but gone in a bite. As a devoted fan of awesome burgers, I had the Bacon-in-the-Burger. Again, very tasty. I am happy to pay $18 for a great burger, but it should have had... More

Fun new industrial look mixed with antiques. Big bar in the middle with seating all around. Not the place for a romantic dinner but certainly upbeat and fun place to take visitors or gather with friends. Service was very good, friendly and helpful. Food was not as great as it looked and what we hoped for after reading the menu... More

I had read about this place a couple years ago in a magazine and was thrilled to find it in Sebastopol this trip. I love the farm to table concept, and I cannot say the food we received was bad - just not much of it and very expensive. when we left we felt like we could go have dinner... More

Zazu's move to the Barlow added star power (Next Iron Chef contestant Duskie Estes and husband/partner John Stewart have been featured in numerous foodie shows and publications) to Sebastopol's bid for Wine Country tourist's attention. With publicity comes priciness, though, as other reviewers have noted. The "King and Queen of Pork" offer an Emeril-friendly menu featuring their justly famously Black... More
