We are a husband & wife chef team so we have 2 kinds of food: rustic Northern Italian (meaning we make all our own salami, pasta, gelato) and playful Americana (meaning we take American classics and update them with a twist). we grow up to 30% of our own produce and have our own chickens for the eggs for our pasta. otherwise, we support local, sustainable and diverse agriculture and economy in our purchasing choices. We make our own bacon and salami from heritage pork that is antibiotic and hormone free and free range. You can order our bacon from our website www.zazurestaurant.com. Come stroll through our chef's garden! We have PIZZA & PINOT nights Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. For breakfast or lunch any day, try our sister restaurant, BOVOLO, up in Healdsburg, on the square inside Copperfield's books.

Located in Barlow Center, Zazu is delightful place to have outdoor lunch on a sunny day (cover by umbrellas); lunch fare was tasty and service prompt and friendly.

Sorry, I know that Zazu is the trendiest spot in Sebastopol, and it is in the center of a new area of the town that is just starting to take off. The place itself is cool: high, high ceilings and a relaxed, open layout, with an outside area too. The service folks are welcoming and the right mix of laid... More

When we got our food it was good...expensive, really really late, but good. It took forever...to get our bar order, to get bread, to get our entrees. We were there for two and half hours...unbelievable. When the manager apologized at the end of the meal, we asked why everything took so long. He admitted our food was a half hour... More

We had lunch at Zazu recently and enjoyed our experience. The salad, pork skins and bacon wrapped dates were great. The chili was nothing like the chili I am used to, as it was pork based and had no chili taste. The pork ribs were very good, but the potato salad was bland. Not bad, but not great.

Although most menu offerings were hog-based, we enjoyed a wonderful mushroom pasta dish. The drinks were very good and the servers were attentive. Midweek there was no rush and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.

We ate lunch here and were in a bit of a rush to make sure we weren't late for our appointment to taste wine a few miles up the road. Our waitress was very accommodating and made sure we got our meals quickly. We chatted with her about the bacon they make and told her about our local bacon and... More

Food is good and the people are great. Menu changes, but the constant is all the bacon in the different dishes and it is delicious.

The atmosphere of the restaurant and area feels upbeat, airy, and clean. Parking is just great. We started with the chicharrones (pork rind) sample that include 3 different seasonings.I prefer the apple cider vinegar better than the lemon rosemary, and hot rind chicharrones. I really enjoyed the black pig ham sandwich, with thinly sliced baked apple, and grilled fontina cheese... More
