We are a husband & wife chef team so we have 2 kinds of food: rustic Northern Italian (meaning we make all our own salami, pasta, gelato) and playful Americana (meaning we take American classics and update them with a twist). we grow up to 30% of our own produce and have our own chickens for the eggs for our pasta. otherwise, we support local, sustainable and diverse agriculture and economy in our purchasing choices. We make our own bacon and salami from heritage pork that is antibiotic and hormone free and free range. You can order our bacon from our website www.zazurestaurant.com. Cool Place

Food is good and the people are great. Menu changes, but the constant is all the bacon in the different dishes and it is delicious.

The atmosphere of the restaurant and area feels upbeat, airy, and clean. Parking is just great. We started with the chicharrones (pork rind) sample that include 3 different seasonings.I prefer the apple cider vinegar better than the lemon rosemary, and hot rind chicharrones. I really enjoyed the black pig ham sandwich, with thinly sliced baked apple, and grilled fontina cheese... More

This seems like a place that tries too hard. They are known for their pork but the bacon was kind of skimpy on the menu. A good BLT would be a great addition. Our hamburger was too raw to eat in the middle - the waitress didn't ask us how we liked it. The chicharrones had no flavor - needed... More

Enjoyed my visit to Zazu - it is a bit of a mix between farm to table and a gastropub. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, fine meat selection.

Love this whole new area of restaurants in Sebastopol. This one is certainly not for vegetarians but local and humanly raised. EVERYTING we had was fantastic. From the Brussel sprouts to the Cow cheeks. I saw somebody have the platter with cold meats and I can't wait to order that in the future. Great cider also. Cool metal art outside.

Very good pork products, prepared by in house by Black Pig, the sister project of chefs Duskie Estes and John Stewart, from free range heritage pigs. Not necessarily light fare, but very well prepared and DELICIOUS. We go there for special treats and when we have pork-loving visitors and we are out and about in Sonoma County. Beautiful new location... More

It was the metal, pink pig-head sculpture on the exterior of the building which drew us into Zazu. The spicy tomato soup served with a tiny (as advertised) grilled cheese (add the bacon!) was so delicious I could have eaten 3 servings (but I am dieting so this portion was just right). All 4 of us were super happy with... More

Saw Zazu Kitchen on T.V. and looked to find that it had moved from Santa Rosa to Sebastopol. I thought the industrial area they moved to was very cool – there are art galleries, coffee shops, wineries, and breweries. What I saw before was very cozy. As a bacon lover wanted to try Zazu. My wife had the bacon wrapped... More

Zazu has fresh, local ingredients, a pretty patio and nice (but chilly on a cool day) interior. We went for Sunday brunch with the kids and mother-in-law. Loved my corned beef hash...more flavorful than any other CBH I've ever had. The kids bacon burgers were yummy but underdone (note to self...order medium well next time, not medium) and super-messy/soggy, so... More
