Fougasse 4-ever

This bakery has the most delicious bread I have ever tasted. It is so hard to decide what to pick but the Fougasse is my absolute favorite, it has cheese and veggies baked in and it as absolutely addictive. They also have delicious chai ( I think it is Sebastapol made Chai Baba) Grab a bottle of... read more

Lots of cyclists make this a destination en route, as will as some of us otherly mobile folks. If you can afford the calories (a good excuse for cyclists), their cinnamon rolls are the best ever, and you can sample all their specialty breads. Great scones and other treats. Get something and walk through their fantastic garden, tables to sit... More

I loved this bakery so much the first time I visited the surrounding area that I convinced by husband to detour from our main road just so I could enjoy its goods for a second time. The baked goods are mouth watering, but pricey. In the end, I guess you get what you pay for it. Be aware, it is... More

This is a must stop if you are traveling from Sebastopol out to the coast, it's right on the way, open Friday - Monday. They have different offerings each day. Also they have fabulous bread. I've been there many many times and I'm always loving the combinations for their scones. One of my favorites in season now is the fig-mascarpone-cranberry... More

No wonder people come from miles around and line up outside the door in dinky Freestone. It is the 700 F oven that is lit year round that makes this bread so scumcious.

Wood fired bread and incredible sticky buns! If you're in the area, don't miss this place. If you're not in the area, make the drive. It's worth it. Bring cash.

Best to plan for a weekend (be sure to check their hours; and they usually "sell out" near closing time.) Great place for a walk (find the "Statue of Liberty" down the road), Osmosis spa and boutique are even closer, buy an antique or your new hat next door, walk the bakery garden. Take your eats thru their garden for... More

The place is a destination in itself, in historic Freestone, a very quaint country village... and they have stunning veggie gardens, and then, the brick oven bread is hand kneaded and the recipes, well, they are creative and DELICIOUS. No gluten free options, sadly..

Really solid wood fire breads off a wonderful country road! The place had a pretty long line of locals when I went and they said the line was "not bad" so get ready for a wait. The setting is quite nice alongside a nice little country road and the bread superb!

This bakery operates in the small community of Freestone, Ca. near the intersection of Bohemian Highway, and Bodegay Highway. They sell very unusual and delicious baked goods cooked in a brick oven. The place is always packed.
