Walked to the Restaurant from the Embassy Suites. Nice easy walk and we had Paella Mexicana & Mariscada family style. Both dishes were awesome and the kids and I devoured everything. Food quantity was enough for 4 adult appetites and it was seasoned to perfection. We wanted dessert but we couldn't find the room. Don't miss this local gem if... More

We eat here regularly and this little hole in the wall is a gem. The wait staff are very friendly and helpful and don’t mind explaining unfamiliar dishes to the ole gringa! There is also one of these in Soledad, Ca. Breakfast is outstanding and the chilequilles to die for but my favorites are the oxtail dish with a rich... More

found marisco's via yelp and went there for dinner because of the high ratings. hubby ordered shrimp with ranchera sauce, which was EXcellent. i ordered chile rellenos, which were good but much different from what i've had before. rice and beans were good. and the tortillas, which were of the nuked and store-bought variety were nice and warm - they... We had one of the best lunches in a long while. As the other reviewers say, the location is unpretentious yet lively. It's clear that a lot of the customers are locals from the Mexican and Latino community. My wife and I split a Mariscada, which is a mix of fresh seafood and fish in a deliciuos mildly hot sauce... This little place was delightful. I was visiting friends in Monterey and we went to Mariscos Puerto Nuevo based on a recommendation they had from a neighbor. When we got there, we were a bit put off by the appearance. But, we "braved it" anyway, and were well rewarded! We started with nachos with beef. Absolutely wonderful, perhaps the best... More

Seafood is their specialty so try something different other than the usual enchiladas, tacos or tamales. Their whole fried fish or a plate of oysters....my wife had a shrimp tostatda that was just excellent...the shrimp were just perfect. The place is not fancy and Seaside is Seaside...not the greatest. The service is fast and friendly.

Fresh, well prepared seafood in a clean family style restaurant. What a nice change from the usual monterey seafood menu.... Instead of the same ol' fish n chips style, think Shrimp cocktail puerto Nuevo style, bacon wrapped prawn, fried fish.... Homemade tortillas and fresh cilantro yum!

Unlike some of the other Mexican resturants in the area this one is squeeky clean. The neighborhood is a bit rough but worth the trip. Good menu with alot of unique things. As another reviewer said it could be easy to miss. Look for the Sportsman Club and you will find it. (The Sportsman Club is quite special and not... More

Got to this place through Tripadvisor and it didn't disappoint. Located in a mixed area of Seaside that gave us pause. Nonetheless, the restaurant is clean and bright with an expansive menu of Mexican selections. Seafood is featured throughout many of their dishes and given our family's landlocked origins, we were game to try them. The mole was excellent and... More

Always wanting to explore some new and exciting places to dine, I came across Mariscos' Puerto Nuevo in Seaside, California based upon a recommendation I received from a Mexican friend of mine as to where her family and she go for an authentic and tasty Mexican meal. We found the food to be very good tasting and ample in serving... More
