delicioso!

What a great find! We spent a few days in Monterey. It was a treat to find this local place away from the tourists. The food was wonderful! The service was kind and polite. And, did I mention the food was wonderful! Our son had an enormous quesadilla, our daughter had beef taquitos, I had a chile... read more

Our usual restaurant was closed so we read the reviews and came here. It was crowded with lots of families but they cleaned off a table for us by the time we were ready to eat. My buddy and I love tongue so we had the burritos. Perfect! Huge! The meat was tender and well seasoned.

It's a basic little restaurant with diner style furniture and authentic Oaxaca style food and cheap beer. Service was great and so was the food. We sat and watched the World Series in Spanish while listening to Hispanic families (we were the only non-Hispanics in the restaurant, which I always take as a good sign) chatting away with their children.... While looking for a quick breakfast , we drove by a Mexican Resto at 9:09 AM, open and in full swing. Hungry and in a rush , we entered this simple but clean establishment and were welcomed by a kind waiter who took the time to ask about where we were from, say a few words in french and explain... Loved it, great food, great price. Very authentic, perfect tortillas. Fresh carrot juice and other varieties. Not as pricey as other healthy fresh food places. Lots of locals.

Oaxacan mole sandwich is great, nice family atmosphere. The waitresses are always so busy, but it is worth the little bit of extra time it takes. Do not go here for Tex-mex or you standard issue burritos, they are best at the Oaxacan flavors!

Small place, good food at good prices. We've always been disappointed with the Mexican restaurants in this area. Being from Houston, we know good Mexican food. This place has the stuff. Dark mole, great soups and excellent chile relleno. Good desserts too. Plus the portions are large.

I was in Monterey all week on business and blundered into this place. The food is based on the Oaxaca region in Mexico so it tastes different then your basic, standard issue mexican fare. I went here twice for dinner; both times I was the only white person there. The atmosphere is very laid back; I would not hesitate to bring... More
