Noisiness Detracts from Excellent Food and Service

We treated a young couple to a meal at Mahe and were simply delighted with the entire experience. We did make reservations, which is strongly recommended. We ordered calamari as an appetizer and all agree it was the best we've ever had. Entrees ordered were ahi, scallops, swordfish, and sushi... read more

So,if I were to go here again, it would not be on a Saturday night, unless I wanted to hang out in a bar. Unfortunately, that's what it felt like, like we had taken a large family group with young kids to a loud bar on a Saturday night. We could barely hear each other over the band and noise.... More

My company had a business dinner at Mahe and I cannot rave enough about the superior service received. The Manager introduced himself and made sure the evening went off without a hitch. In the bar, They offer a killer happy hour, the server was attentive, and the drink selection was extensive. When we went into the back room for dinner,... More

Ate there tonight after working a long day. They did not have the local beer I ordered, Kona Fire Rock Pale Ale. The 2 sushi (Mahe and Ahi King) I ordered were not good at all but I saw the El Jefe sushi on another table and that was very good. I bit loud and noisy. Would give it another... More

I was surprised at the small portion. For being a fish house at the beach, i expected a little more. Also, they didn't serve any bread with or before dinner . I will say this, the service and the food was delishes. Casual and comfortable place .

I wish I could give this a better rating because I know it is popular, but it was so noisy that we couldn't hear one another speak. I won't be back.

Wanted Sushi and our place to go in Seal Beach is Mahe. The food is always very good and the service is up tempo and very friendly. Beware that the place is always noisy but that gives it character. Recommend that you order off special board.

I love cioppino! Mahe serves a wonderful dish. There is an abundance of seafood and the broth is full and zesty. Finish it off with the Banana Stack!

I decided to try this restaurant because the pictures on Yelp looked fabulous. I went with my mom around 8 and it wasn't packed on a Thursday night, which was nice. The inside of the restaurant looks like it hasn't been updated since the mid 60s! But thats ok :) I liked the inside, it had that old "SoCal" charm... More
