great sushi in Scotts Valley, CA

Just a good sushi restaurant. Ask the wait staff what is fresh - you won't be disappointed. I've had rolls, nigiri, udon, teriyaki - all good. They are good or lunch (bento boxes) and dinner.

Great little sushi place! Fish quality was very good! Sake & hamachi were very fresh, nice cuts also. Uni was fresh also, nice serving size. Service was good, though I had to flag down the waitress if I needed anything (minor complaint). What I enjoyed most was having my Nigori sake served in the traditional bamboo box! I do not... More

Small but friendly Sushi Bar. Good food and pleasant staff. This is a "local" place judging by the customers I saw. Décor is basic so if you're looking for ambiance this isn't the place but if you are looking for good food at a reasonable price give it a try.

The menu is laid out really well and the sake menu is done extremely well. The food is adequate and the portions are large. The tempura is more of a panko base and not a true tempura which was disappointing. I referred a competitor to check out how the front of the house is being handled since it is a... More

We decided to dine at Rumble Fish Saturday night, waiting about 5 minutes for a table. The front exterior and interior of the restaurant is festively decorated for the season (I would vote it best commercial business holiday decoration in Scotts Valley). The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The service was somewhat slow toward the end of our meal... More

I have been here many time and can recommend it as a great option for Japanese in Scotts Valley. Rumble Fish has a good roll selection and the fish is always good, service is excellent and its a family friendly atmosphere.

It's been quite awhile since I've eaten here and I wasn't sure what to expect since its under new ownership. I was pleasantly surprised, it was very good! I had the dinner where you can choose either 2 or 3 items. I had the gyoza, beef teriyaki and salmon teriyaki. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted delicious. I liked... More

One of the oldest restaurants in Scotts Valley. Only dinner is served. I wish lunch was served. The food is great. I've lived in Japan. The food here is near the real thing. There are other Japanese restaurants in Scotts Valley, but this is the best. The place fills up fast. If you come after 6:30pm be prepared to wait.

My oldest son requested to eat here for his birthday. Because our younger son is mildly allergic to sesame oil, we had the waiter check to see which food did not contain sesame oil. Because the sushi rice contains sesame, our son had the chicken katsu, which he really liked. Hubby enjoyed the seafood udon soup. I really liked my... More

Tucked away in Scotts Valley is this little gem of a sushi place. I swear, if I was loaded with money, I could eat here every night. The place is quaint and the food is ALWAYS on par. I've never been disappointed here. I went on a Friday night after work. If you get there after 6:30pm, be prepared to... More
