Second visit

I had visited Avatar's in 2013 whilst on holiday in San Francisco. It was amazing and I couldn't wait to go back again. This time, I brought my mother, who was a bit sceptical about the whole 'tell me what you like and it will be the best thing you've ever eaten' spiel from our waiter. To her... read more

I highly recommend this spot for healthy, good food. Especially if you like spicy cuisine. The wait staff is very friendly as well. We just moved our company to Sausalito and already have this as our regular lunch spot.

I had the Punjabi enchiladas and really enjoyed the meal. The owner took my order and catered to my tastes. That kind of service totally exceeded my expectations, considering the reasonable prices! We also had the curried mushrooms and samosas for appetizers - both were great. I'm bummed I live on the opposite side of the country... I'd be a... More

The food was okay but the service was horrible. The place itself was loud and noisy and the owner, who also happened to serve us, was full of himself. We like spicy food so asked him to make the food spicy, he actually told us we won't be able to handle it so he won't make it spicy! As a... More

We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge to see the views about 4:30pm on Thursday. Our drive across the bridge was easy, but we could see the road was packed getting back into the city. Quickly I looked up TripAdvisor to give me a suggestion on where to stop as we entered Marin county. Ah ha, I was in the mood... More

Have been about 10 times over the last several years. Fresh, gluten free blend of Indian and Mexican. Everyone I have brought there either via car our on the final leg of a bike ride back into SF have raved about it and have themselves returned. The owner is a great host and willing to be flexible to your tastes.... More

I prefer traditional Indian food. Of course, we only tried 2 entrees but neither were outstanding, however, you may If you enjoy fusion food.

Having spent 4 years in the UK, we appreciate a top-notch curry. Discovering a restaurant/chef that offers this plus Gluten-free options is even better! After we ordered the gluten-free samosas (a rare find), Ashok didn't ask which dishes we wanted... but rather what sort of protein or flavors interested us. We agreed upon a lamb curry (spiced somewhere around a... More

After a trip to the Muir woods I could think of nothing better than a nice curry, and luckily we fell upon Avatar's. A cosy little place with friendly staff, who explained a bit about the history of the place and how the food is made. Being from Britain, we are connoisseurs of the curry, and all I can say... More

My boyfriend and I came from Muir Woods after hiking all day and were warmly welcomed in casual attire here. The knowledgable host/server gave us a list of options based on our protein & vegetable preferences, allergies, etc. He recommended the chicken enchiladas and I wanted fish and vegetables in which he recommended the blacked Seabass. It was phenomenal. The... More
