This restaurant is so great, we went here 3 times on our 1 week vacation to San Francisco. They will make you anything you want. You just tell them the ingredients you like, and they will cook up a special meal for you. The desert was really good also. So many different flavors that go together so well. I can't... More

We can't say enough good about this restaurant. The owner personally prepared food for us. Far exceeded anything we had to to date. Food was prepared to perfection. My husband and I went plant-based (vegan) for health and sports performance. Traveling can be challenging because of our diet, and our concierge recommended we try Avatar's. It was the best meal... While transporting a boat down the coast of Washington, Oregon and California we stopped in Sausalito for parts. We wanted a restaurant we could walk to and found Avatar's near the marina. We started to look at the menu and our waiter who I am embarrassed to say I can't remember his name asked if we had been here before.... More

Fabulous blend of Indian, Italian and Mexican...no fooling. The real deal in innovation and quality--and the service is amazing. One of a kind.

Indian-Mexican??? it was wonderful! Sounds like an unlikely pairing but was wonderful. Mostly Indian crowd so knew it had to be good Indian food. The fusion (menu calls it "confusion") menu really works. The owner is very friendly and enthusiastic and has good recommendations. My friend asked for moderate level of hotness on the pumpkin enchiladas, would go for low... More

The food was good, but not great. The plates ALL looked the same which was weird in that there were 3 different entrees. It almost seemed as if they were along a production line... no differentiation among the food which included a fish, vegetable and lamb entree. Curry was bland. A fish dish was undercooked... Nothing was 'bad" per se... More

It is a very unassuming place, and the owner a bit bossy, telling you that unless you end up licking the plate, you will not need to pay anything... the food is unbelievable, and he has reason to be so cocky.. the seabass was really amazing and the enchiladas just this short of miracoulous..

After biking the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito we continued to cycle further into town. Thought we would never get to Avatars and I was getting a bit nervous as the family was hungry. My trip advisor friends rarely let me down though. Avatar's was excellent. We are not even sure what we ate but shared a variety of this... More

Around 1.5 miles far from downtown. We found this is only Indian restaurant in Sausalito and went by ratings..did not had much time to read in details. Interiors are cramped. This is NOT AN INDIAN restaurant with regular Indian food. Indian food is mixed and served in Mexican style. Chipotle is much better than this one. taste is just ok .... More

On our sightseeing tour around the Bay Area, my sister suggested this restaurant pretty close to the center of Sausalito; she had heard that it was good. Well, it was not just good, it was great. All four of us ordered different items and shared and liked it all. The "mysterious" dessert, though, turned out to be just o.k.. It... More
