Great food; Awesome owner

Peddled over the bridge and found this place for lunch. A little outside of town and away from the touristy restaurants. The owner guaranteed we'd be dreaming about the punjabi enchiladas later...and we were. The family loved it.

A friend of ours took us to this place during our recent visit to Sausalito. She is a local and recommended us to try the Indo-mexican or Indo-Italian food served here. We had taro or pumpkin enchilada served with rice, methi ravioli with vegetables tossed in a mild curry and Bathua saag with rice and grilled vegetables and mango lassi.... More

We visited this restaurant on a busy day (Valentine's day) with some friends. The owner was very friendly. Despite a huge crowd and waiting customers, he took pains to serve every table with personal attention. I was amazed at the speed , yet polite way in which the servers buzzed around the restaurant. A small cozy restaurant, very creative and... More

Dishes are Indian- and Jamaican-influenced, and delicious. People looking for standard Indian food should go to the India Palace, but those seeking creative cuisine should enjoy it. I've been going here for many, many years. Note that it's a tiny place and can get packed at peak lunch and dinner times.

I like traditional Indian food (chicken tiki masala and garlic nan) but no luck here. Owner talked me into a different dish (chicken yogurt and some gross mango sauce) . I took one bite and I was done. Fortunately for me my husband will eat anything so we traded and I ate his curry chicken which was good. I also... More

I ate here with a friend and I have to say it did not meet expectations. The concept of Mexican/Indian fusion sounds interesting but it didn't play out on the plate. I'll agree that the owner is charming but after confirming that it was our first time there, he took our menus and essentially ordered specials for us. They were... More

We stopped here while on vacation Oct 2014. We were looking for a healthy lunch and something different. We all loved our meals. They use fresh ingred and lots of spices and can will change the spice to match you "heat" level you like. I like mild-med and my meal was wonderful as was the rest of our family who... More

After visiting Muir Woods, we drove to Sausalito and found Avatars. We walked in happy to see all the signs that claimed to cater to Vegan and other special diets upon request. Soon after we sat, the owner approached us and begins to tell us how he’s been in the restaurant business for over 25 years and how he “KNOWS... More
