After walking along the main drag of Sausalito, plenty of tourist shops - but try the ones on Princess Street, especially "Out of Hand" - we stopped at Scoma's for dinner. A colleague recommended I eat here knowing I was making a trip to San Francisco. Wejust happened to see the restaurant when we were biking into town. Even though we weren't dressed up, we stopped in. Sausalito is a wonerful view of the bay and Scoma's couldn't be more picturesque. I just don't think they were ready for this Mothers day. Ok I admit that I ordered "Scottish" Salmon on the West Coast which wasn't a wise choice. Nevertheless the fish was stale and I ate no more after one bite. My husband and son's meals were edible but hardly tasty. For three people with one glass of mediocre merlot, the bill was over $150. more

I went to Scoma's on a Saturday evening. The restaurant had recently reopened since "renovating". I did not see any new renovations to the restaurant and was surprised at how cramped the tables were. The waiter had zero personality and was not engaging in the least bit. He acted as if he did not want to show up to work... more

We arrived at 2.30 for lunch and were immediately shown to a table inside and ordered from the lunch menu. The tuna steak with green beans and mashed potato was outstanding. The view here is great, right on the water. The food is really not worth the price you pay. I was disappointed. It is a very pretentious atmosphere and the staff is a bit too stuffy. more

Amazing view, but I was only mildly satisfied with the steak - was cooked too much for my liking. Friendly waitstaff and incredible view, ambiance. Will definitely give it another try and order seafood this time. more
