I wanted to celebrate my birthday dinner at a special place with dear two friends of mine and I chose to return to one of my very favorite restaurants "The Spinnaker!" When I made the reservation I asked to be seated with a window view. Little did I know that the corner table were the best seats in the entire... More

First of all, ask for the corner table with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay. During your meal, ours was brunch, we were entertained by harbor seals and Pelicans diving in the water to find their meal as well. I had eggs Benedict with a crab cake and others had them with salmon and another had scrambled eggs with... More

You give great advice -- that corner seat's an incredible place to watch over the Bay. I'm happy that you enjoyed the eggs, the service, and the entertainment (the pelicans!). I hope that we get to see you again -- the Bay's always here for you. Best, Jeff - General Manager More

We had a wonderful lunch here on a beautiful winter day. The view was superior, the service excellent, and the food was outstanding. Very good value for the money. Three of us had salads with seafood, and were very satisfied. I also had the New England clam chowder, which was very good. Nice, affordable wine list. A real variety of... More

This restaurant was a great finish to the day. This restaurant was a our third choice due to two other restaurants in SF/Sausalito for their annual cleaning. We are glad it worked out that way. Being from the Dallas area, we have had our share of nice restaurants. The appetizers were good. The entrees were really good. The food had... More

Great location that makes you feel that you are aboard a ship. Sweeping views of the ocean all around you. The decoration a old fashioned and probably needs some renovation, though the place evokes a old time grandeur. Although the staff seems experience, the service is hasty and cold. The food is very moderate in quality and portions are small.... More

It's always wonderful to hear that you loved the location and the ambience, Anna. Still, I was disappointed about the service and the food you received, especially because we always aim to give you the best in both aspects. Your server should be warm and friendly and your calimari should be succulent. If you ever feel like you're getting anything... More

Some friends from San Francisco took us to this lovely spot - hidden away, really - but, what a surprising and gorgeous place. It reminded me of back in the day, going to eat out with my grandparents at some of the fine places that they loved - not sure, but I think it was the formal casual nature, the... More

I love hearing that we could make you think of that memory with your grandparents! It sounds like you and your friends had an amazing time here. The next time that you're nearby, I hope that we get to see you again -- that Halibut isn't going to eat itself, afterall! Best, Jeff - General Manager More

we stopped in simply because we were looking for a restaurant to sit and see the view of the bay. The restaurant is a bit dated and could definitely use some sprucing up but the food is perfectly fine the way it is! The service was great and the food was presented very well. Our waiter explained different dishes and... More

From the chowder to the chicken piquant, it sounded like you had an awesome time here! I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy the ambience -- while we enjoy having an ambience as classic as our view, I'll talk to the staff about what we can do to make some improvements. Every Chance We Get. (We live in Sacramento.) Can't say too much in praise of The Spinnaker: The chef obviously takes great pride in his/her kitchen; pricing that represents exceptional value; exquisite, friendly service; a view of the San Francisco skyline that is absolutely breath-taking and same family ownership for 50, count-em, years. I hope the previous sentence piques your... More
