Italian Food

Porter house for two was perfectly cooked - med rare and lean. Etude pinot noir was an excellent match.

Some authentic Italian flavors in Sausalito. We had a fantastic lunch here after cycling over from SF. Great place with great food and wine. Would particularly recommend the calamari starter and the gnudi primi. So good!

I was in Sausalito on business for a week last year, and ate at Poggio twice. The first time was by myself for dinner...I'd been walking around looking for a place for dinner, and Poggio looked interesting. I ate on the patio/sidewalk, and loved watching all the people and dogs wandering by - it was so pleasant! The food was... More

Thanks for a great evening. The staff were lovely and made us feel welcome and paid wonderful attention to our 5yr old daughter. Pizza was superb and the old style negroni exactly what I needed. Great wine list.

Thank goodness for Trip Advisor. I was on business in SF and did the drive over the Golden Gate Bridge (how could I not) and wanted a good dinner close by. So I read the reviews and took the advice on what to order: meatball appetizer (fab sauce and good size) followed by buffalo pizza (with buffalo motz, pesto and... More

My husband and I took a morning ferry from San Francisco and wandered around Sausalito before lunch. It was a fabuous sunny day and we found the outdoor seating at the Poggio very appealing with a European ambience. Our young waiter Nick was a real pro and we watched him handle a table of rather demanding customers with great skill... More

Stopped in for a late lunch; service was very leisurely to the point of being a little slow. However, we weren't in a rush so it wasn't a problem. Food was well prepared and tasted great

After biking 16 miles from Fisherman's Wharf, through the Bridge and down to Sausalito, my friends and I were HUNGRY! We stumbled into Poggio's ready to chow down on some good pizza, and we were not expecting much but were very pleasantly surprised. The pizza was crisp, and had a delicious tasty crust that is truly a rare find. We... More

We were looking for something reasonable to get a pizza. The restaurant is very nice, service perfect, we were served in timely manner. Cloth napkins, etc. The only think we didn't like was the pizza.

On the way to California we met a gent in the airport lounge who recommended the restaurant. Well, he was correct! It is one of the best Italian meals I have had. The meatball appetizer was out of this world. I let my niece try them and almost lost my dish!! We also tried the pasta with fennel sausage. Marvelous.... More
