Sushi Ran is Paradise

We walked a mile from the ferry for this lunch and it was well worth it. Sushi Ran gets its sushi from the Tokyo fish market and it has some unique offerings. The restaurant is neat, clean and looks average but in no way is it average. We started with the Toro which is the best belly cut of tuna... read more

Sushi Ran has been consistently the best sushi in Marin and maybe the best in the bay area. Unique combinations and creations, lots of fun small plates, very lively fun atmosphere, upscale. Not cheap but well worth it.

Can be very crowded and loud because the food and beverages are so good. Don't miss trying the soup.

I have to say, over my past few visits, there has been a decline here. The variety of sashimi is probably unmatched, some flown in from around the world, but also not as fresh as you might like. The cooked food is fussy and overpriced. Two tiny lamb chops the size of a fifty cent piece, a teaspoon of mashed... More

No better Japanese restaurant on the Bay Area. Preparation, presentation, quality, taste & a delight to the senses & taste buds like few others! Live this place. Make a Rez or you will wait.

If you have even been to Japan, you realize that you only about 30% of Japanese cuisine is served outside of Japan. Going to Sushi-ran, you will come across some favorites from Japan not seen elsewhere, and fish of the highest quality. When I want a special treat, and I am willing to pay for it, I go here. Enjoy!

This was not our first trip here but it had been a few years. Both the food and service were excellent. Even though I wasn`t sure what I as eating, it was yummy. My favorite roll was the salmon citrus. Everyone at our table agreed that it was the best. I would definitely return to this restaurant.

I'd say that having lunch at Sushi Ran as part of a day trip to beautiful Sausalito should be a 'must do' for sushi lovers. It's located one block off the main drag in town and if you park off the main street, two hour parking is free. We looked up Sushi Ran at the recommendation of our hotel concierge... More

A longtime (decades) family favorite of ours. We go a lot and it is so enjoyable. The cooked dishes are inventive, wonderfully tasty and made of really fresh ingredients. The sushi and sake are excellent and the service is also outstanding. The food can be expensive if not chosen carefully, but we usually come away at about what we expect... More
