Best sushi in town

Service was impeccable from the waiters timing, etiquette, and the knowledge they had. Food was outstanding, simply some of the best sushi I have ever had and worth every cent! This was one of the best meals of our trip to San Francisco. We ordered an array of maki rolls, and the tofu appetizer. The tofu was okay, but fairly bland. The sushi rolls though (all that we ordered) were delicious! We would absolutely return here on a future trip to Sausalito.

For anyone who has had genuine Japanese grade sushi (served fresh at Tsukiji fish market) this place will not disappoint. It's top notch in a relaxed environment. The high grade ingredients are reflected in the price. But you get what you pay for. I left with a big grin on my face.

Sushi Ran isn't for just the sushi, but also the tempura and other plates. I've gone there for dates and also with friends. You're not quite going to find prices like from the hole-in-the-wall sushi places, but the prices here are not bad at all, especially if you don't buy drinks. I went recently with my wife and my sister;... More

This was the stand-out meal during our stay in the Bay Area. It's more than a sushi bar, and combines the best of traditional Japanese sushi dining with a wider choice of Pacific fusion dishes. We booked well ahead for a Saturday night, it was very full, and a little cramped, but strangely it never seemed noisy or hurried. The... More

Sat at the sushi bar and enjoyed some of the best sushi we have had in years, even here. You want to request the sushi bar as your executive chef personally prepares your every bite in front of you, superb o Toro, crispy fresh eel, perfect rice, unbelievably meticulous chef right in front of you. Under $150 and we had... More

As a Sushi restaurant, I recall this being one of the first around with actual sushi chefs. High quality product and a fan base of the location since it opened. A great location on Caledonia St in the old part of Sausalito and still making old as well as new Sushi product. Try the infused Sake too.

Went back after a few years. The restaurant has undergone some remodeling and the menu has changed somewhat. However, the food remains top-notch. The sushi nigiri is the best in the bay area. The service is great and ambience is nice.

Really great sushi presented well in a nice setting. Prices are reasonable for the food quality, service and location. It is a highlight of a visit to Sausalito. An unusual twist is that the restaurant is split in two by an outdoor walkway so you could be seated in a room on the other side of the walk from the... More

So, this place get more 'fine dining' authentic than the average "homey" Japanese restaurants. The 49er roll, I think was made famous here or just that this is the first place I had it-Avocado,Cucumber roll with slices of Salmon andPaper thin lemon on top that you eat all together and is a perfect bite of freshness. The whole menu has... More
