Small restaurant in sausalito. Cute little town right outside sfo over golden gate bridge. Busy on a Thursday night, but I guess they are supposed to be one of the best. The sake list was extensive. They try to up sell bottles that start at $40 and up to $100+, sushi fresh, but only a few pieces each so very... More

Excellent sushi and sake selections. We had Chef Toshi to prepared for us a special Toro (Blue Fin Tuna) and Kobe Wagyu sushi tasting. We also tasted the Kaisui uni, Kinki, Shirauo and Kegani sushi. Wow..it was an unforgettable meal.

Sausalito is an interesting town, with many good and even quirky restaurants. Sushi Ran is an exemplar of the kind of restaurant that, when focused on doing a superb job in all areas and utilize the freshest ingredients, can be a destination-worthy restaurant. The sushi is delicious, nuanced, and obviously fresh. Having real, fresh wasabe makes a huge difference. Tempura... More

If you want to have one of the best omikase ("I'll leave it to you") meals ever, make reservations (a must) and sit at the bar. I lived in Japan and this is as good as the best Tokyo sushi restaurants. Amazing selection of sake as well. I highly recommend this restaurant. Street parking is relatively easy and Sausalito is... Not only do they have the best sushi in Sausalito , but they also have a wonderful selection of other Japanese dishes. One of the best seaweed salads , wow , where else would one find this? We started with small cups of special hot soup .. really good. The tempura is best if you add the large king prawns... More

Coming from Toronto, I had scheduled this in my SanFran vacation/visit as a day trip. I can tell you the sushi is as fresh as people in the reviews claim. Its definitely more fresh than I've had in Toronto. It's closest I've come to the real thing (having sushi/sashimi in Japan itself). It really is worth the visit. and Definitely... More

We went on hubby's birthday and it was a warm night so we sat outside. Nice service (a touch slow, perhaps). The reviews are correct; it is very expensive sushi unless you order a combination or special. The crunchy roll was the best thing ever. The seaweed salad and braised mushrooms were off the chart. lots of vegetarian elections, and... More

Sushi Ran is the best. The menu is creative and the service is stellar. Everything was delightful. We ordered a variety of dishes. Couldn't have asked for a better sushi dinner.

Had a great dinner here during our stay. Sushi was excellent and very fresh. Menu also offers non-sushi items made by the Chef. Our server was very helpful in helping us with our choices - my husband is allergic to shrimp and she was knowledgable about what was cooked with shrimp and not. Would definitely go there again.
