We are East Coast folks, so don't get to eat here very often, but we love Sausolito and make a point to stay there if we can. We drove from San Fransisco here only to eat breakfast, because we have heard of it. It really was not a disappointment. It was wonderful. You can take, what you want. My wife likes fish very much, and she took a salmon sandwish. She liked it very much. Also pancakes were really, really good. Also the location of this bar... More

This is a classic coffee shop: Small, neat, friendly service. Our food was outstanding and the service was prompt and personable. I gulped at the $14.50 price for the sausage omelet I wanted, but it was well worth it: a massive dish jammed with large chunks of three different kind of sausages, all fresh. My fruit plate exploded with fresh... More

The space is tiny, so go early or late to avoid the wait. We went at 830 on a Sunday. All booths (only 5 of them) were full, but we were seated right away at the counter. Food comes out very fast. We had eggs, bacon, and 1 pancake (banana/blueberry for me, plain for my dining companion). Portions were huge... More

After a morning trip to Muir Woods. We decided to look around Sausalito and found this restaurant. Good home cooking (danish style) and reasonable prices.

Sausalito is picturesque and we enjoyed our visit. Our first morning we decided to go out for breakfast and came across the Lighthouse Cafe. It is very quaint inside and the staff are lovely and quick. We ordered a simple breakfast of bacon, eggs, potato. We love a good breakfast but unfortunately everything was burnt - the bacon, the potato,... More

A friend of mine brought me here over winter break. She grew up going here and her description was right on the mark. We went on a Sunday, about 10am. We didn't have to wait at all. We got a booth, but there is also counter seating. It has the feel of a 50's diner. Not only did we receive... More

We popped in here for breakfast on our way out of San Francisco and had a very good breakfast. Many inventive variations on the traditional eggs, hash browns and sausage breakfast. Lively atmosphere, friendly staff - a satisfying diner experience. As with many things around San Francisco, a bit pricey in my opinion.

You can tell a good restaurant in a tourist-oriented town by the number of locals that frequent it, and The Lighthouse has been a local favorite for years. Try the homemade corned beef hash; it has jalapeños it and is delicious. Another recommendation is the French Toast with hot fruit compote, and if you just can't decide, try the combo... More
