Really great, would take a curmudgeon not to give it 5-stars, I guess I am a bit (read on to see why)

This restaurant at the Cavallo Point Lodge in Fort Baker, Sausalito, CA is really great, it would take a curmudgeon not to give it 5-stars, so I guess I am a bit of one (read on to see what kicked off my inner curmudgeon), hence my 4-star rating. A 1905 setting with great food and service. Could not have been happier. Near the Golden Gate Bridge, but the old fort has lots to see and do. I liked it all.

We were really looking forward to trying the Cavallo Point dining experience based on the generally excellent online reviews, so booked a private room for a 15 person family get-together. The price point was a bit steep for, say, a Dungeness crab sandwich prix fixe menu, but we figured overall we were paying in part for the venue & view,... More

Great burgers, eaten outside with the view of the Golden Gate above you. Wow, this was a great experience and I would love to come back the next time I'm in San Francisco!

It was crowded, but you can bring the drinks outside to the lawn and wait for your table. Really cool for our group of 4 adults and a minor. Once we got seated (30 minutes estimate was accurate) we at on the porch and food was really good.

This is one of my favorite splurge restaurants for extra special occasions. First - you cannot beat the view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Second, the food is excellent. The service is courteous and always leaves me feeling pampered. If you want to wow someone - take them here.

The restaurant has a reputation as being one of the best in the Bay Area. The atmosphere is pleasant and the services were very attentive. I was a bit disappointed, however, in some of the food. For example, the mushroom soup was extremely bland. The endive salad had a variety of ingredients, but they seemed more plunked down together than... More

We enjoyed a delightful lunch at this lovely restaurant. Our host, a local San Franciscan, chose this fine spot for lunch during our day trip to San Francisco. She had reserved a table in advance. It was a beautiful sunny day and we asked to be seated outdoors. We ordered drinks from the bar while we waited for an outdoor... More
