I used to eat here frequently some years ago; indeed, one of my most memorable and romantic meals was here, outdoors beneath the huge live oak, featuring osso bucco and quite a bit of splendid Oakville Cabernet. Delighted to see they still deliver the goods, although they have - predictably - become somewhat more expensive in the past 5-6 years.... More

four of us, two teens and two parents had a great meal in the patio-gorgeous setting, with tree and night sky. food excellent (though white gazpacho disappointing--too thin) waiter very solicitous to the teens. however, he came and regaled us with speed-talking info, but then would disappear for extremely long periods when we needed things

Great little place, seating both inside and out in a courtyard. Fantastic food! We just had a few Appertizers and they were all great! Service was excellent would definitely go back again.

But once you're inside, its "all class". Love the ambiance, you can sit inside or out (but better make reservations for those tables) or at the bar. Our meals were excellent, halibut special and scallops. Both were so tender, succulent and tasty but not overly sauced or spiced. Wait staff knows their menu and were really helpful in assisting us... More

I have been many times to The Basin in Saratoga and have never been disappointed. Food, & libations will always be exactly what you would expect delicious. Staff is courteous, experienced, & the bartenders make a delish Spaniard martini

The duck, the oysters and the service were all wonderful. We made reservations the first night liked it enough that we returned the next night without reservations and they found us a table. It's still a little early in the season so you probably want to make reservations. There is out door dining, but it's looked like the place where... More

Unfortunately, it seems like The Basin has seen better days. Dishes are over-sauced and overwrought and delivered with a kind of "high-end service" that would have been better in the days of the speakeasy. Not to mention that for average tasting food, it is extremely overpriced. So, if you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain, The Basin... More

The wine and food were excellent. The private room was a bit too cool temperature wise for my taste. The menu was varied and although the trout I ordered was great, the pork chop looked even better and I regretted not ordering it.

The Basin is my favorite restaurant. The food is always delicious. There are regular items always on the menu as well as new items each time we visit. The specials are so good that it make it difficult to choose which delicious dish to have. I would classify the menu as California cuisine with a Spanish flare. I also love... More

Every time I eat here, it is delicious. I had not been back to The Basin in quite a while. It only took a few forkfuls to make me wonder why! I will be back much sooner next time. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, the sides were really tasty, and the cocktails were excellent. The only drawback is... More
