Personnel too pushy, too expensive

We had a business dinner. The interior and wine cellar is really impressive. You wouldn't think to enter in such a place when you're outside. The waiter "pushed" us to take caviar with the aperitif which costed us 600$! We really think they were too pushy on that as well as the rest of the choices... read more

Some might consider me to have a hole in my head but I preferred the old Plumed Horse. The weekend jazz band was terrific and the atmosphere seemed better suited to Saratoga Village. The new Plumed Horse, decor and atmosphere-wise is better suited to the Financial District in San Francisco. The food isn't worth the price nor are the drinks.... More

I've eaten at an array of Michelin-starred places and it's always a good sign when they have meat on the menu I haven't tried. Overall, the meal was superb, and they had a Dogfish Head bear in bottles I hadn't seen before. Definitely, a good place to have a nice meal.

This place is amazing. Josh and Peter are a class act. The food is fantastic, the service is top notch and the ambience is great. I have had several meals here and each time I have a great meal. Try the chef's tasting. It's to die for. Get the seafood soufflé or the elk dish. So many delicious meals. Simple,... More

This is a FINE dining establishment, though there is no problem in you arrive in jeans and hoodies. The menu is extremely small and the emphasis is on the tasting menu, which I opted for. The food is very, very good, beautifully presented and explained, though the portions are small. The reason for not giving the restaurant a 5 star... More

First of all, I am holding the plumed horse to a much higher standard than say "Mel's diner" or the corner pupuseria, because you go to the plumed horse with its michelin star specifically for a fine dining experience, not just calories to fill the gap. It is an occasion that you should actually dress up for, take the time... More

In 2014 I ate in the bar of the Plumed Horse several times. Twice with friends, we had a lovely time, with attentive service, and some good small bites. Crab cakes and oysters especially recommended. Then I stopped in by myself after working all afternoon on a Saturday -- just wanted a drink and appetizer. The bar server pretty much... More

I am so impressed by the entire guest experience. The service is outstanding at every stage of the meal. And then there is the artful meal, a delight for your taste buds!

The ambiance, wait staff, and food was all excellent. Great place for a special night out. One of the best meals ever and one of the most expensive! Totally worth it!

I've been here multiple times. Couple of times as part of a large group and then few other times with few friends. This place never disappoints. The service is top notch. The food is amazing. The chef is always trying to make sure that every order is complete with matching complimentary dishes. The souffle is to die for. The seafood... More
