Excellent food but a bit pricey for the man or woman in the street.

Typically, frequented by business diners or folks celebrating special events in their lifes. Food rich and tends towards French/California. Not an every day type of meal.

Really high end Michelin quality dining (and of course you expect to pay for it), but worth the price. Chef's table is in a private room with a glass wall so you can see the kitchen working!

We chose the Plumed Horse to celebrate a business deal. On contacting the restaurant the staff were helpful and showed us the two private rooms, and showed a sample chef’s tasting menu. With several vegetarians among the party of 9, we chose an identical vegetarian tasting menu for everyone, and allocated a $1000 budget for wine pairings, leaving the choices... More

The food we had was spectacular. We had twice the tasting menu ($135) and every dish was fine. However the Alaskian Halibut was really great. Also the desert. The service was quite attentive even though the courses came too fast after each other for my taste. The service staff never checked if we were actually ready for the next course.... More

This is a restaurant to experience the chef's creativity, not necessarily a normal dinner. It is expensive (Michelin-Star) about $200 per person minimum. The main menu is the tasting menu; there are a few entree options. For the tasting menu, be prepared to have about 6-8 dishes, with a wine pairing option for each dish. It is a lot of... More

We had a business dinner. The interior and wine cellar is really impressive. You wouldn't think to enter in such a place when you're outside. The waiter "pushed" us to take caviar with the aperitif which costed us 600$! We really think they were too pushy on that as well as the rest of the choices we made. Very expensive... More

Some might consider me to have a hole in my head but I preferred the old Plumed Horse. The weekend jazz band was terrific and the atmosphere seemed better suited to Saratoga Village. The new Plumed Horse, decor and atmosphere-wise is better suited to the Financial District in San Francisco. The food isn't worth the price nor are the drinks.... More

I've eaten at an array of Michelin-starred places and it's always a good sign when they have meat on the menu I haven't tried. Overall, the meal was superb, and they had a Dogfish Head bear in bottles I hadn't seen before. Definitely, a good place to have a nice meal.

This place is amazing. Josh and Peter are a class act. The food is fantastic, the service is top notch and the ambience is great. I have had several meals here and each time I have a great meal. Try the chef's tasting. It's to die for. Get the seafood soufflé or the elk dish. So many delicious meals. Simple,... More

This is a FINE dining establishment, though there is no problem in you arrive in jeans and hoodies. The menu is extremely small and the emphasis is on the tasting menu, which I opted for. The food is very, very good, beautifully presented and explained, though the portions are small. The reason for not giving the restaurant a 5 star... More
