Description: With a fresh, de rigueur exterior of barn-red paint, the interior expresses the warmth of a local tavern, using clean lines and a rustic feel. Accented with oak, restored branded wood beams, a white paneled ceiling and wrought iron lighting, the L-shaped room is refreshed, with higher ceilings and massive glass windows that open the space. As before, there is an open display kitchen observing the chefs at work. Newly created for the restaurant is a glass-enclosed wine room flanking the dining room that co-exists with two wood-burning fireplaces preserved from the original Red Barn. Firewood is supplied by the Agin Brothers, the family that has serviced the Nichols family with seasoned wood for ten years. Two wrought iron and rope chandeliers, hand crafted by local blacksmith Hans Duus, illuminate the room and are lighted with replicas of vintage Edison light bulbs, with more of the Edison-styled glass globes accenting the room. The walls are decorated with historical photographs of Los Rancheros Visitores, the club of local horsemen and ranchers dating back to 1929. Salvaged during the construction was wallpaper discovered under layers of paint and paneling, beautifully illustrated with dancing girls, pistols, playing cards and saloons, now preserved, framed, and gracing the dining room walls. JC's handsome bar was created by locals Scott and Chris Bruhn who used a felled pine tree salvaged from Figueroa Mountain to form the expansive bar top.

My husband had a delicious pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw. I had the calorie bomb, but very good, chicken fried steak with mash potatoes. We were only able to eat half our meals, it was plentiful. We sat in the bar area to watch basketball. The bartender provided great service and attention.

Four of us went to the Red Barn in late December of 2014. The dining room was very clean and nicely decorated restaurant. The service was above average. The menu was differently a steakhouse menu. Lots of meat and really large dishes. The dishes in my opinion were too big, especially the appetizers. We shared the Tuna tartar, spring rolls... More

The Brothers have another winner. After an extensive remodel the restaurant is open and serving really good food. We visited for lunch today, service was wonderful not too rushed. I had the Brothers burger which was a great grind, cooked exactly how I asked. If I had one critique the bottom bun was quite soggy so it was quite messy... More

This restaurant, now known as Brothers Restaurant at the Red Barn, does everything right. From the moment we walked in the door - quickly seated, water and bread (an unbelievable, freshly made assortment we could all share) arriving an instant later, and then time to peruse the wine list (excellent local choices). A high level of service experienced throughout the... More

Happened to be up in that area with friends for an afternoon of wine-tasting two days after Thanksgiving. To be honest, our first choice was the Hitching Post as I have an old friend who works there, but the wait was until 9pm and we were hungry campers at 6! One of our party recommended this place and we lucked... More

This is now called Brothers at the Red Barn. My husband and I went while on a mini vacation and we're hoping for good food and a relaxed atmosphere - vacation. The food was very good, but we were so rushed by the ultra efficient service we both felt like we were rushing to make a plane at the airport!... More

So if you haven't been to the Red Barn in a few years . . . you are in for a bit of a surprise. . . . New owners, new remodel, new menu. Though it still holds the cowboy aesthetic that made it great in first place, only now it's a more light and bright, but in no way... More

Excellent, excellent, excellent. Party of four and each of us were happy with our meals. The steak eaters found the meat to be perfectly done. And the lone chicken diner was very happy with her plate. The Martinis were good as was the calamari appetizer. And yes, we shared two desserts but should have only ordered one to share in... More

The atmosphere was elegant without being pretentious. The food was fantastic. I had the salmon and it was an excellent choice. My husband enjoyed his steak. The service was very professional and friendly. It was a little noisy in the bar but we were at the other end of the restaurant so were not bothered by the noise. I would... More
