Was looking for a lunch spot before I visited a winery. Glad I chose this place. Big salad was excellent, service top-rate, prices reasonable considering it was a tablecloth/napkin kind of restaurant.

We had gone to Brothers at Matthei's Tavern a number of times a few years ago and were anxious to try their reincarnation in Santa Ynez. Our dinner was really outstanding. The setting is comfortable, personnel friendly and attentive, and the food was fantastic. The cauliflower soup was one of the best soups I have ever had in a restaurant... More

If your idea of a good meal is lots of butter on everything, this is your place. We were staying next door at the For Friends B&B (highly recommended) and could smell the steaks cooking from our patio there. My husband had a steak and one expects a bit of butter on a steak for give it that nice gloss... More

Hidden gem in Santa Ynez. Went there for lunch, service and presentation way above average. The best spinach salad I have ever eaten. Husband raved about the fish and chips. We have decided to return for dinner and prime rib is on our list. The chef came out to visit and asked us personally how the food tasted. A must... More

We were so glad to find the Brothers' restaurant, after having a dismal dinner at the old site the night before. Great food and wine, plus yummy dessert special. The service was excellent! Enjoyed the inside dining atmosphere, the outside covered patio dining seemed a little noisy. We are in the area 3 or 4 times a year, and we... More

Food was fabulous as is atmosphere. This restaurant has newly re-opened under new ownership with totally different menu (and prices). Still a great bar. Food is very expensive but worth it for a special dinner

Traveling through this beautiful area of California, we heard that the Red Barn had just recently been refurbished and had a new menu. While waiting for friends for lunch, we met the chef in the bar. He raved about the food and in particular the fish and chips. We were surprised at the limited menu - just several items, three... More

A wonderful local place with typical small town warm pleasant service. The food is fantastic! I suggest you make a reservation whenever you find yourself in the area. The menu is fine cuisine and which you can tell is made in the highest standard.

This re-opened restaurant is beautifully remodeled in everyway...from menu to the interior space. We stopped in for lunch and liked everything from the moment the friendly hostess greeted us. The interior dining space is bright and airy and the bar area dark and cozy. We had the special tri-tip sandwhich and one of their special burgers. The meat on both... More

Matt and Jeff (The Brothers) are back with their reopened Red Barn serving even better versions of the food from their old Mattei's Restaurant. Everything we had on our plates was wonderful from the perfectly cooked steak and the salmon and the delicious mussels (starter special of the night) to the last carrot and green bean. We were in food... More
