A beautiful place, memorable service and food

Halibut was delicious. All entrees come with soup and a Bibb lettuce salad. Delightful. Sweetbreads not so much. But the service was very good. Steaks looked amazing.

Excellent restaurant with a central location. Had the French Onion soup which was just ok, but everything else on the meal was excellent. Nice salad, had the tournedos of beef with the sauce which was excellent as was the creme brulle for dessert. would definitely go back again!

The food is always delicious. They make a delicious escargot too. They have a good wine list. Make a reservation if you are going on a weekend.

This is my first French resturant experience and it made me want to find one closer to home! The food was great, I had the halibut special and my husband had the filet mignon with the red wine tarragon sauce. Both meals were excellent. Our server, Mark, was funny, attentive and very good. I noticed the other waiters were also... More

Chef Roger cooks it up right. It's not the most expensive place to go. I compare it to prices at Cattleman's or other such restaurants. But, the FOOD is WAY BETTER. I love the Wellington! Oh .. and he cooks fish - when he has it fresh (he only gets it fresh so it depends on what's being caught at... More

La Gare was highly recommended by our B&B and friends of ours. Our meal was not memorable. I started with escargot which was very good. My wife's frog's legs were not very good and she did not eat all of them. My main course of duck al a orange had the texture and flavor of a Chinese duck dish rather... More

Our dinner on Monday of this week was perfect! The waitress was warm, knowledgable and helpful. We visited Santa Rosa for five days after an absence of ten years and were pleasantly surprised by the choices and diversity of the downtown restaurants. We had fond memories of delicious meals at La Gare and hoped we would build more. We were... More

La Gare is a nice restaurant that offers an excellent menu selection. Wild salmon was fresh and was not a disappointment. The service in knowledgable, friendly and focused on the customer!
