Good Food but Lacking in Ambiance

We stayed there for New Years night for one night and dinner. We received the complimentary wine tasting which was just plain insulting. We were only allowed one taste, not even red and white. The wines were not good choices and our server was very ammature. This is Sonoma County, if you are going to do this... do it right!... More

Both lunch and breafast were very tasty but the ambience very cold and was the room temperature. The staff was very friendly and provided good service.

We were offered a free wine tasting as part of our first night's stay at the Fountaingrove hotel. One glass of a red and one of a white wine, neither were of even reasonable quality. The free snack we were supposed to have didn't materialise. The only reason we ate breakfast there was because we were offered it as complimentary... More

We stopped here for an after dinner drink as it looked modern & nice. The unhappy waitress seemed completely clueless; I asked for a type of liquor which she said they didn't have but the the bartender said they did have. He proceeded to make my martini with the wrong spirit so I sent it back and trying to be... More

Only had the breakfast buffet so I can't rate the other food or service. The buffet had a variety of fresh fruit, juice, yogurts, pastries, scrambled eggs with veggies, sausage and excellent thick lean bacon; oatmeal with toppings; good coffee and a nice selection of teas. At $14 it's not cheap but it's good. Plus it's about the only place... More

The selection of breakfast items was very good. The food was fresh and tasted good. I asked the waitress if there was soy milk for my coffee and she brought me some. I liked that they had "to go" cups for coffee, even though there was also a Keurig for individual cups in the room. It was a nice touch!

This was a nice friendly hotel. Service was good with wine tasting and nibbles as you arrived and each evening. Rooms were large and very clean. Staff were helpful and breakfast buffet superb. Fair distance from town so would need cab. Scott in the bar was full of fun. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only down side was having... More

whatever you do, unless there are absolutely no other options, do not eat at the restaurant. It's very pricey and appears to be made of packaged and frozen food. Not made from scratch for the price. Food was good if you are not used to fine dining, but for the quality it was just too pricey. If it was half... More
